Wind rustled the leaves, and sunlight pierced the gaps between them, casting little circles of light on the road.
Wei Yanchi shook Zhang Mingqi gently and whispered, "Eldest Senior Sister?"
Zhang Mingqi ignored him.
Wei Yanchi persisted. "Fifth Senior Brother, Senior Sister Zhang, Celestial Master Zhang, Senior Brother Zhang..."
"What!"
Holding the two letters, Wei Yanchi smiled. "I know you're awake. Keep an eye on them. I'm off to deliver the letters."
"Aren't you going to rest a little?"
"For me, sitting down counts as resting, and I've rested long enough."
Once again, Wei Yanchi flashed that bold, confident smile, edged with faint disdain.
It made Zhang Mingqi's stomach hurt. "Where exactly are you going? I don't believe you're simply going to deliver a letter."
Wei Yanchi stood and walked straight out, then poked his head back in to correct her earnestly. "Two letters."
A moment later, he was gone.
But Wei Yanchi didn't head for the mailbox. Instead, he turned a corner and made his way to the Church.
Beneath the blue sky and white clouds, the sunlight beat down with vicious heat. A lifeless atmosphere hung over the island, and combined with that sunlight, it was enough to suffocate anyone.
All because of the commotion they had caused yesterday.
Now, the residents wandering around the island looked at Wei Yanchi strangely.
Especially when they saw him heading toward the Church.
Inside the Church, the priest directed his congregation, so furious that his chest hurt and he could barely get his words out.
"Keep him outside! Don't let him in! Damn it, that demon is coming again! Barricade the door with tables and seal the windows! Yes, throw stones at him when he comes near!"
