The building covered an enormous area. From the entrance to the corridor, its far end was out of sight. Seemingly identical doors lined both sides; aside from their numbers, the only difference was how much paint had peeled off each one.
The room the butler had chosen for Xie De was the second room to the left of the second-floor staircase. Its door was numbered 107. Who knew what numbering scheme they were using?

455 considered it. "Hmm, that's a problem. I've never dealt with anything like this either. We'd better contact 730 and let 730 handle it, Host."
Xie De figured that was their only option now. Just then, he heard another sound from downstairs. At first, he thought it was Dunpli or Wei Yunmo.
But then he heard a girl crying, her sobs faint and quiet, as though she had suffered endless grievances and was trying to hold them in.
Another resident of this building?
Xie De headed down the stairs. Before he reached the turn, he saw a girl standing at the foot of the staircase, beyond the reach of the dim light. Her silhouette looked exactly like Jialike's.
Xie De paused slightly.
"Jialike?"
The girl stayed in the shadows, but her voice was gentle, nothing like Jialike's temperamental tone. "Sir, are you a doctor?"
"Who are you?"
The girl stepped out of the shadows, revealing a deathly pale face and a pitiful expression. She said calmly, "I'm Jialike. I thought you knew me."
Jialike?
*Wait, if you're Jialike, who's
