Xie De came out of the conference room and looked up at the bright sunlight in the gray sky. He remembered a sentence he had learned in school-
"The unity of progress and setbacks drives the movement, change, and development of all things."
Where did the future lie?
Xie De knew he had found the answer.
Perhaps the road ahead would be even harder than the one behind him. The world's problems were like the answer to "Lilac"-there would always be more knots to untangle.
And the Supreme Council he had founded would bring an endless stream of new problems before him.
But ultimately, this was his own choice.
After all, pursuing philosophy to the bitter end left you only two paths: begging or changing the world.
After 455 and Xie De finalized the founding of the Supreme Council, it changed its motto overnight: If you don't want to beg, change the world, comrade!
Xie De got into the car and wordlessly swept his overlong hair back. Messages from 730 kept popping up on his phone. He glanced down at a couple, then blocked it outright. Then he saw Wei Jianye's messages begging him to break up with Wei Yanchi. He paused, then guiltily muted Wei Jianye.
Wei Yanchi and Daoist Liu came out a little after him. The three of them spoke quietly, and before long, Wei Yanchi climbed into the car with an ingratiating smile. "Sir, are you feeling any better?"
Xie De casually tossed him the phone. "No."
Wei Yanchi caught it. Another message from 730 appeared on the screen, and then 730's voice came through as the call function activated.
"Mr. Xie De, please answer my question. Please do not ignore me. I am speaking to you in earnest."
Xie De shot it an irritated glance.
