Zhuoerte's voice drew Wei Yanchi's gaze back.
The lingering aura of that terrifying being permeated the air. The nurses at work still kept their heads down without saying a word, every movement quiet and careful. Even patients desperate to cough clutched their own throats, holding it in until their faces turned purple.
Only a little girl sitting on a hospital bed heard Zhuoerte's quiet muttering. She whispered, "Are you new? Don't you know Anbers?"

The little girl was skin and bones. She was so thin that her eyes looked especially large, watery and full of innocence.
Seizing the opportunity, Zhuoerte quickly bent down and asked quietly, "You guessed right, little girl. I'm new here. Are you afraid of Anbers too?"
"Everyone is afraid of him." The girl managed a bitter little smile, looking like a well-mannered young lady. "He's strict, frightening, and heartless, and he's meticulous about absolutely everything... He keeps saying we don't need to believe in God, that he'll help us defeat death. But he doesn't know that everyone calls him the Devil incarnate."
Zhuoerte wanted to ask more, but Wei Yanchi grabbed him and pulled him toward the corridor on the other side, stopping a nurse who was about to leave.
The nurse went rigid.
Wei Yanchi said softly, "Lü Yating."
"It's you?" Lü Yating let out a long breath of relief and tucked away the wrench she had been about to pull out. "You've really got guts, showing up in a place like this. Where did you get all that gear?"
Wei Yanchi had no intention of wasting time on pointless chatter. He got straight to the point. "Tell us the clues. We already know Zeng Huan is a Regressor."
