Ragged breaths struggled out of his lungs, his heartbeat pounding through his bones, and the taste of blood rose in his throat.
There was little air in the cramped space.
Drenched in sweat, Wei Yanchi peered outside. In the corridor, a group of Plague Doctors followed behind the Director, passing the doorway.

With a creak, the door opened.
Lü Yating cautiously walked in, slightly out of breath herself. Her face was pale, and she looked little better than he did.
"Wei Yanchi, they're gone. You can come out now."
"What happened to you?"
Lü Yating took a deep breath and gave a bitter smile. "I won't survive tonight. An NPC bumped into me just now, and my stomach hurts."
Wei Yanchi froze for a moment. "You're pregnant?"
"Yes, but now it looks like I might lose the baby. Go look for clues first. They headed toward Yue Xiamo's ward."
"All right. Sit down for a while."
Their time was running increasingly short. Unable to find any words of comfort, Wei Yanchi slipped out of the room, dodging NPCs as he searched for a doctor who was alone, as well as the office of whoever held the highest authority in the hospital.
Along the way, he noticed that the hospital's interior was more finely furnished than the rest of the Monastery.
A terrifying, uncanny presence approached from ahead again.
Holding his breath, Wei Yanchi pulled open the door to a Storage Room and hid inside, peering out through the crack in the door. This time, however, his fingertips trembled, and he stared without blinking.
