The notification announcing his point reward rang in Li Xian's ears as soon as he logged out of the instance:
[The "Death Train" instance has officially closed. Your point reward is: 1,830,582!]
The system read out the precise string of digits. Li Xian worked backward from that total-on average, each player who had died had held roughly 260,000 points.
Judging by that figure, even the point totals in the Advanced Zone were nowhere near enough to buy the item called Wish Come True.
Besides that, the inexplicable electrical static in the system notification struck Li Xian as odd. So the first thing he did after hearing his point reward was check exactly what item he had received.
Soon, a familiar bright yellow sphere appeared in Li Xian's palm.
[Item: A plastic bullet] [Quality: C] [Item description: A little trinket a certain passenger secretly slipped into your pocket] [How to use: It will explode when subjected to sufficient pressure or impact. Its explosive power matches its appearance-about as much as a bang snap.] [Note: Here, big brother. This is for the candy you gave me.]
After reading the item description, Li Xian quickly put it back into his inventory. The bullet was so light that it looked as though it might slip out of his palm at any moment. To avoid accidentally dropping it on the floor, he was better off keeping it in his inventory.
But why would such a tiny thing make the system produce electrical static?
Before he could resolve that question, Li Xian felt something moving in his pocket.
That familiar, supple, springy feel-Li Xian knew it was Ji Xie without even thinking.
Was this what he meant by "taking another form"? Shrinking himself down this small and hiding in my pocket?
