Li Xian opened his door and froze when he saw that the person standing before him was Lin Shiming.
He had thought Jiang Qiuyue would be the one coming to see him. Lin Shiming instead?
Lin Shiming gave Li Xian a polite nod, then glanced at the quilt bunched up on the bed and said, "Sorry, did I interrupt your rest?"
Li Xian shook his head. "What is it?"
Lin Shiming got straight to the point. "I logged out of my instance around the same time you did. I happened to run into Jiang Qiuyue when I got back, and she told me your latest instance was an Escape Hunt?"
Li Xian mentally worked out the timing—he and Lin Shiming had entered their instances about five days apart, but this Escape Hunt instance had been so short that their return times really could have coincided.
"That's right. It's an Escape Hunt."
Li Xian answered.
With that confirmed, Lin Shiming stepped aside, clearing the doorway. "I left in too much of a hurry last time, so there were some things I didn't get to say. Would you mind talking in the lounge?"
Li Xian readily nodded. Just as he turned to close the door, something pale purple darted through the gap. Before he could react, it slipped up his trouser leg and spread its suckers, clinging to his ankle.
Lin Shiming turned to look at Li Xian, who had suddenly stopped, and asked in confusion:
"What's wrong?"
"...Nothing."
Lin Shiming turned back and continued leading the way. While he wasn't looking, Li Xian quickly bent down, peeled the tentacle off his ankle, and stuffed it into his pocket.
