A string of inexplicably strange noises shattered the faintly melancholy mood. Li Xian turned and found Ji Xie diligently carrying out the "task" he had assigned him.
One grab from Ji Xie's large hand made the "water level" in the bulging bag of candy visibly drop. Then he tossed the entire handful into his mouth and started crunching away.
But where was that gulping sound coming from?
Li Xian was puzzled for a moment, then saw Ji Xie reach into the bag for another handful before he had even finished chewing, only to toss the candy onto the ground.
His gaze followed it down, and he discovered Little Brown zipping around like a robot vacuum, gulping down the candy on the ground.
There was another important detail-neither of them had removed the wrappers before eating.
Between the two of them, the bag of candy rapidly emptied. For a moment, Li Xian even began to wonder whether Ji Xie would eat the plastic bag as well...
Fortunately, Ji Xie merely found unwrapping them a hassle; he did not actually have pica. After swallowing the last piece of candy, he shook the empty bag at Li Xian as if asking for praise.
"Good boy."
Li Xian rose onto his toes and patted Ji Xie's head. At the sight, Little Brown worked even harder to swallow the remaining candy on the ground, then followed his example and began asking for praise too. In the end, Li Xian obliged and patted Little Brown's body.
"You too."
Having eaten too quickly at the end, Little Brown's body made a series of digestive gurgles and began rippling in waves.
