Background / History
Lu Guan transmigrated to the Douluo Continent six years before his martial-soul awakening. Familiar with The Legend of the Dragon King, he initially regarded knowledge of the original storyline as his greatest advantage. He grew up in Eastsea City in a household that owned a small courtyard but was not wealthy by local standards. His father’s modest cultivation and Little White Bear martial soul made him anxious about his own awakening 1 2.
His awakened form reminded him of Chi You, the ancient War God associated with four eyes, six hands, the Five Weapons, and the Nine Li. The Spirit Pagoda rewarded his exceptional talent with a storage soul tool and 500,000 federal credits. Rather than immediately seek a soul spirit, he first returned home to investigate his body, fog, and weapons 1 2.
After rescuing Na’er, he watched his parents welcome her into the family. Her appearance in Eastsea City—rather than the location he remembered from the original story—convinced him that events were already diverging and that foreknowledge could not be trusted unconditionally 5 6.
Lu Guan pursued forging both as a route toward future independence and as a way to train six-arm coordination. Mu Chen became his forging master, while Mu Ye later took responsibility for cultivation. Lu Guan insisted that accepting Mu Ye’s instruction must not mean abandoning Mu Chen. With his parents’ approval, he moved to Heaven Dou City for the Body Sect’s resource-intensive training 6 8 10 12 13.
Appearance
Lu Guan’s ordinary appearance is handsome and delicate-featured; sustained forging and cultivation develop his initially frail build into a muscular physique 3 8 15.
- Additional eyes: Two dark eyes open on his forehead when his martial soul manifests 1 8.
- Six arms: Four extra arms grow from his body; his transformed muscles are described as dusky blue 1 8.
- Bone wings: Dark-red wings with razor-sharp edges and black markings appear through his first soul skill 8.
- Demonic markings and aura: Dark-red markings accompany a savage presence strong enough to frighten children and unsettle experienced Soul Masters 8 38.
- Later physical changes: After absorbing the chrysanthemum, his skin develops a faint golden sheen and his bones ring like metal when he exerts himself 61.
Personality
Lu Guan is ambitious, methodical, and intensely disciplined. He tests newly discovered abilities before committing to a cultivation path and maintains a routine of academy lessons, forging, and nightly meditation. His appetite for progress sometimes exceeds his mentors’ caution, as shown by his eagerness to attempt Thousand Refinement while still a one-ring Soul Master 2 6 9.
His confidence does not prevent him from accepting useful correction. He applies Mu Chen’s advice during his first forging session and thanks Mu Xi for identifying the weakness in his Spirit Forging attempt. Gratitude also governs his loyalties: he refuses to discard Mu Chen for a more prestigious teacher and later shares rare herbs with Mu Ye and A Ruheng 7 10 18 59.
He treats reputation, patronage, and institutional influence as resources to be negotiated. He demands meaningful compensation for concealing his forging talent, recognizes the political implications of Shrek’s recruitment offer, and understands that a future Divine Craftsman could attract assassination attempts as well as support 42 43 62.
His protective behavior coexists with calculated ruthlessness. He rescues Na’er and defends Uncle Li, yet secretly kills the imprisoned Guang brothers after arranging a public confrontation and lawful arrest. His stated concern about Federation law therefore reflects attention to consequences and appearances, not an absolute refusal to kill 5 27 28.
Abilities & Skills
War Lord Demon Body
An unusual body martial soul that creates additional body parts rather than empowering only an existing limb or organ. Its whole-body nature is central to Lu Guan’s combat strength and medicinal absorption 10 14.
- Provides four eyes and six independently coordinated arms 1 7.
- Grants formidable strength even without active soul-power use; he restrains Wang Daxiong and stops Wang Heng’s enhanced punch with one hand 9 35.
- Allows his entire body to absorb medicinal-bath energy simultaneously 14.
- Its malicious aura nourishes the damaged Nightmare Darkwing Tiger, helping it recover to thousand-year strength 15.
- Remains dependent on training and resources: Mu Chen initially considers his soul power insufficient for safe Thousand Refinement despite his physique 9.
Nine Li War Fog
An innate, dense dark-red fog that Lu Guan names after the Nine Li. It sharpens his own perception while obstructing enemies’ sight and spiritual sensing 2 20.
- Initially covers roughly a basketball-court-sized area, with room to spread farther 2.
- Lets him see fine details within fog dense enough to hide an outstretched hand from ordinary sight 2.
- Energizes his body and supports his fighting spirit 2 16.
- Resists Gu Yue’s attempt to disperse it with wind 20.
- Creates widespread shadows for Shadow Trace and supports Nightmare Lure 16 20.
- Can share battlefield perception with Xu Xiaoyan 40.
War Master’s Heart Art
Also called the Weapon Lord’s Heart Art or War Lord Heart Method, this inherited art channels soul power through specific meridians into the Five Weapons. It produces destructive force before Lu Guan obtains any soul ring 2 3.
| Weapon | Combat function |
|---|---|
| Ge | Hacking attacks and restricting an opponent’s movement; associated with Hooking Ge Sinks the Earth 2 3. |
| Shu | Concussive strikes that penetrate the surface to damage the interior; associated with Shu Shakes a Thousand Tons 2 3. |
| Ji | Swift, powerful thrusts; associated with Ji Pierces Layered Clouds 2 3. |
| Qiu | Compact, close-range combat 3. |
| Yi | Broad sweeps and battlefield control 3. |
- Coordinates the five weapons into combined offense and defense 3.
- Provides force-control principles that Lu Guan adapts to forging 6 7.
- Initially exhausts his soul power after slightly more than ten minutes of practice 3.
- Sixth form — Five Weapons: Profound Calamity: Draws the Battle Mist into all five weapons for a devastating combined release. It defeats Ye Xinglan and Yu Chenxiao during the exhibition match and damages Ye Xinglan’s Stargod Sword 40.
Bloodbone Demon Wings
His first soul skill manifests durable, blade-edged wings that serve as both weapons and a means of flight 5.
- Enables rapid aerial movement and diving attacks 20 68.
- Supports a spinning, drill-like attack powerful enough to crater the training ground 20.
- His first ring is yellow when first displayed at school and purple by his battle with Gu Yue 8 20.
Shadow Trace
His second soul skill lets him merge into a shadow and emerge from another shadow on the battlefield 20.
- Uses the shadows beneath his own war fog to approach opponents unseen 20.
- Lets him appear behind Gu Yue and surround her with his six arms and weapons 20.
- Helps him disrupt coordinated attacks during the Shrek exhibition match 39.
Nightmare Lure
His third soul skill combines with the Nine Li War Fog to manifest enemies’ fears as Nightmare Wraiths that fight for him 16.
- Stronger fear produces stronger wraiths 16.
- Converts the fog from a personal battlefield advantage into a means of generating additional combatants 16.
- Loses effectiveness against a fearless opponent: Yu Chenxiao’s wraith disappears after Body-Burning Tyrant Thunder suppresses his fear 39.
Forging
Lu Guan uses six hammers, coordinated vibration, and precise force control to expel impurities and shape metal 7 9.
- Maintains a perfect Hundred Refinement success rate 9.
- Can perform sustained Thousand Refinement work without tiring 14.
- Achieves Hundred Refinement of Black Gold in six strikes 17.
- Reaches half-step Spirit Forging at nine, but cannot yet sustain the conventional soul-power resonance needed to complete it 18.
- Later expresses confidence in completing Spirit Forging, but the supplied account does not document a completed Spirit Forging breakthrough 42.
Plane Origin and Dragon God Bloodline
Lu Guan accepts Plane Origin and uses it to harmonize portions of the Golden and Silver Dragon King bloodlines into nine-colored Dragon God Blood 46 49.
- Gains greatly enhanced bloodline power and the ability to perceive and control elements 49.
- Uses Plane Origin to conceal his Dragon God aura 50.
- Displays Golden Dragon King blood qi and Silver Dragon King elemental power separately in his hands 57.
- Concealment does not eliminate every risk of discovery: Gu Yue proposes tracking him through related bloodlines’ instinctive resonance 50.
Divine Dragon Throne
A bloodline-derived skill consisting of a throne above thirty-three steps arranged in three tiers 50.
- Ascending strengthens his draconic might and elemental control; sitting further amplifies perception, power, and blood-energy circulation 50.
- Its aura causes the Star Dou Great Forest’s beasts to bow instinctively 50.
- Subdues the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ remnant souls without a direct fight 56.
- Open use broadcasts his presence over a wide area, drawing attention from Yun Ming, Di Tian, Gu Yue, and Na’er 50.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Five ancient bronze weapons — Ge, Shu, Ji, Qiu, and Yi: Manifestations accompanying his body martial soul, not a separate twin martial soul 1.
- Spirit Pagoda Storage Soul Tool: A bracelet given with a 500,000-credit check after his awakening; later used to store materials and herbs 2 59.
- Six Thousand-Refined Star Silver Hammers: Used for the Black Gold forging challenge 17.
- Saint Craftsman Notes: Mu Chen’s record of his forging breakthroughs, entrusted to Lu Guan as he approaches Spirit Forging 18.
- Transformation-adapted clothing: Includes concealed openings for extra arms and wings, though transformations can still destroy his clothes 8 17.
- Ice-Fire Jade Token: Opens a passage to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. It can transport multiple people, but the passage’s energy capacity is approximately one Limit Douluo; You later recharges it 52 58.
- Immortal-herb reserves: Collected from the well and shared with Body Sect members. Lu Guan personally uses the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum with meridian-expanding herbs 59 61.
Relationships
- Lu Beixuan — Father. Proud and protective, willing to contribute his savings or borrow money for Lu Guan’s first soul spirit 1 3 4.
- Xu Ran — Mother. Celebrates his achievements, welcomes Na’er, and reminds him to make time for family instead of training constantly 6 9.
- Na’er — Adoptive younger sister whom he rescues from thugs. She visits him every weekend during his three years of Body Sect training and becomes jealous of other girls’ closeness to him. He later conceals that he stole bloodline power from her side 5 15 23 49 51.
- Mu Chen — Forging master and financial supporter. Lu Guan refuses to abandon him when Mu Ye offers cultivation instruction; Mu Chen eventually passes on his Saint Craftsman Notes 8 10 14 18.
- Mu Ye — Cultivation master and Body Sect leader. Oversees his Innate Secret Method training, supports his revival plans, and accompanies him to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Lu Guan supplies the herb used in Mu Ye’s rank-95 breakthrough 10 13 34 55 59 62.
- A Ruheng — Eldest senior brother. Marvels at Lu Guan’s talent; Lu Guan promises to reserve an immortal herb for him 15 59.
- Zhen Hua — Patron and senior forging adviser, not a confirmed formal master. Helps fund his training and warns him about the political dangers of becoming a Divine Craftsman 13 14 62.

- Ye Xinglan — Rival whose defeat and damaged martial soul drive her determination to surpass him 40 42 60.
- You / Aromatic Silk Beauty — Guardian of the well who acknowledges him as master in exchange for a chance to accompany his eventual ascension. Grants him limited continuing access to the well 57 58.
- Douluo Plane Spirit — Gives him a wisp of origin while seeking help against Tang San and Tang Hao’s attempt to seize the plane 46.
