"Run!"
That was the only word in Yang Jian's mind.
The stench of blood rushed straight to his head.
Behind him, the corridor walls were torn apart like paper.
A massive hand covered in festering boils grazed his scalp and crushed the fire door, sending metal shards flying.
Yang Jian rolled across the floor, his chest heaving.
"Damn it!"
He had transmigrated to this godforsaken Japan just three hours ago. Before he could even figure out what was happening, he had been dragged into this massacre.
This was Tokyo Metropolitan Third Hospital.
Now... it was a tomb.
The fluorescent lights overhead flickered wildly.
"Hee hee... found... found you..."
Shrill laughter pierced his ears from every direction.
A monster over three meters tall squeezed through the ceiling, crushing it.
It had no eyes. Its face was densely covered in mouths that opened and closed.
Every mouth was chewing chunks of flesh.
A Grade 1 Cursed Spirit.
Although Yang Jian was an ordinary person now, he recognized this thing.
The world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
It was incredibly dangerous for ordinary people! With no cursed energy, encountering something like this right at the start meant certain death.
The monster's hundreds of mouths opened at once, spraying purplish-black venom like rain.
The corridor was completely sealed off.
There was no dodging it.
He was going to die.
[Detected a lethal attack threatening the host.] [God-Level Experience Card System activated.] [Drawing the beginner's gift package...]
A mechanical voice exploded in his mind.
Yang Jian did not even have time to complain.
"Draw!"
[Congratulations, host. You have drawn "Mysterious Revival-Yang Jian Template Experience Card (Early stage: Ghost Eye)."] [Duration: ten minutes.] [Load now?]
"Load!"
The venom was already only five centimeters from the tip of his nose.
The world suddenly fell silent.
That was no exaggeration.
Everything truly fell into utter, deathly silence.
The falling venom hung suspended in midair.
The cursed spirit's enormous body froze in place.
Even the mouths on its face, chewing frantically, had been paused.
An incomprehensible, indescribable presence erupted from within Yang Jian.
Dark, eerie, oppressive.
He felt a tearing agony in his forehead. The flesh peeled back to either side, without bleeding.
An eye opened, scarlet and pupil-less, holding nothing but pure, chilling red light.
The red light spread in an instant, engulfing the corridor and the entire floor. The walls and floor were all stained scarlet.
An eerie world descended.
This was... a ghost domain.
Yang Jian straightened up.
At 178 centimeters tall, he looked tiny before the three-meter cursed spirit.
But what he felt now was strange.
No fear, no panic, only absolute reason and the indifference of a corpse.
This was a side effect of the malevolent ghost. It had begun suppressing his human emotions.
The cursed spirit sensed mortal danger. Its instincts screamed warnings, and its hundreds of mouths let out shrill shrieks in unison.
An enormous surge of cursed energy erupted as it tried to break through the red light.
Useless.
The red light did not budge.
Before supernatural rules, cursed energy was nothing more than a cheap plastic toy.
"You're far too low on the ladder."
Yang Jian looked at the cursed spirit, his brow faintly furrowed, his tone flat.
He raised his right hand. The flesh on its back split open, and a second scarlet Ghost Eye opened.
The Ghost Eye fixed its gaze on the cursed spirit, and the red light abruptly contracted.
Yang Jian clenched his hand around empty air.
Crack.
The space around the cursed spirit seemed to be crushed by an enormous, invisible hand.
The tough body it was so proud of collapsed like a steamed sponge cake.
Twisted, pulverized.
Before its purplish-black blood could even splatter, the red light erased it completely.
An instant kill.
It had not even had a chance to struggle.
Just like that, a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit was reduced to nothing.
Meanwhile.
Outside the hospital.
A black Veil enveloped the entire building.
Two boys in black Jujutsu High uniforms stood outside the entrance. One wore small, round sunglasses and had unruly white hair; the other wore his hair in a bun and had black plugs in his ears.
"Satoru, what are the odds that ordinary person inside is still alive?"
Suguru Geto looked at the detector in his hand.
"Zero."
Satoru Gojo crunched on a lollipop, both hands in his pockets.
"That's a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit. The moment the Veil went down, everyone inside was already dead."
"Poor guy. There probably won't even be an intact body left."
Suguru Geto sighed and prepared to summon a cursed spirit.
"Let's go. Time to clean up."
Satoru Gojo was about to take a step.
Suddenly, he stopped.
His sunglasses slipped down a little, revealing his azure eyes.
These were the Six Eyes, unique to the Gojo Clan.
And at that moment, the Six Eyes were feeding him information at a frantic pace.
The casual expression vanished from Satoru Gojo's face.
"Geto, wait."
"What's wrong?"
"Something's off inside."
Satoru Gojo stared fixedly at the hospital building.
"That Grade 1 Cursed Spirit's cursed energy signature... it's gone."
Suguru Geto froze for a moment. "Gone? It was exorcised? By who?"
"No idea." Satoru Gojo bit through the lollipop in his mouth. "And something I can't make sense of has appeared in there."
"Can't make sense of?" Suguru Geto found that unbelievable.
Was there anything in this world the Six Eyes could not understand?
"It's not cursed energy." Satoru Gojo's voice grew low and heavy. "There's no fluctuation of cursed energy, but that feeling... really pisses me off."
It was like facing pure death.
Bang!
Satoru Gojo kicked open the hospital's glass entrance doors, and the two rushed up to the third floor.
At the end of the corridor, the red light was dissipating.
A young man in casual clothes stood there.
It was the very ordinary person they had assumed was already dead.
Yang Jian.
The split in his forehead had healed, and the eye on the back of his hand had vanished.
The experience card had not expired yet, but he had voluntarily closed the Ghost Eyes because they were too conspicuous.
Besides, the feeling of the malevolent ghost reviving made him deeply uncomfortable.
He turned around and looked at the two who had rushed upstairs.
They were Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto.
The future pinnacle of Jujutsu Society and a future curse user.
But right now, they were only two high school students.
Yang Jian dusted off his clothes.
The corridor was deathly silent.
Not even a scrap of the cursed spirit remained on the floor.
Suguru Geto looked around.
There were no signs of a fight, no residual cursed energy.
The Grade 1 Cursed Spirit seemed to have vanished into thin air.
"Hey."
Satoru Gojo walked forward.
He examined Yang Jian from head to toe at close range, his Six Eyes operating at full power.
He could not see through him. Not at all.
The man before him had not a trace of cursed energy. He did not even leak the faint negative emotions ordinary people did. He was as clean as a corpse.
"Where's that big bug that was here?" Satoru Gojo raised his chin, his tone probing and provocative.
Yang Jian looked at him. Those azure eyes were certainly beautiful, but to someone who had experienced the supernatural power of Mysterious Revival, they were nothing special.
"Dead."
Yang Jian's answer was blunt.
"You killed it?"
Suguru Geto approached, wariness in his eyes.
"Who else?" Yang Jian asked back.
"With what?" Satoru Gojo stepped closer.
"You have no cursed energy. You're not even a sorcerer."
"Why should I believe some clueless... ordinary person could kill a Grade 1 Cursed Spirit?" Satoru Gojo exerted an intense pressure.
But Yang Jian's heartbeat did not quicken in the slightest. He had just wielded the Ghost Eyes, and the lingering effects of that absolute rationality remained.
"Let me correct two mistakes." Yang Jian held up two fingers. "First, I don't need cursed energy to kill trash like that."
Satoru Gojo narrowed his eyes.
Suguru Geto's fingers had already closed around a Cursed Spirit Orb.
"Second."
Yang Jian lowered his hand and looked straight into Satoru Gojo's Six Eyes. "Don't look down your nose at me. That power you're so proud of, as far as I'm concerned..."
Yang Jian paused, his lips curving into a smile without a trace of warmth.
"It's far too low on the ladder."
The air in the corridor froze instantly.
Suguru Geto almost laughed aloud. An ordinary person without cursed energy was provoking Satoru Gojo?
Satoru Gojo did not laugh. He took off his sunglasses, his azure eyes locking onto Yang Jian. "Do you know who you're talking to?"
"I do." Yang Jian met his gaze. "The young master of the Gojo Clan. The bearer of the Six Eyes."
Satoru Gojo's gaze changed. "Who exactly are you?"
"Yang Jian."
P.S. (The early parts were written by the author's second personality, so please bear with me. The unnatural character dialogue gets a little better after chapter 50. I'm fixing it, I'm fixing it.)
