Xian Di stood up and straightened his collar.

Then he headed toward the arena.

Satoru Gojo lounged against the railing, one hand resting on it and the other cupped around his mouth, drawing out his words.

"Xian Di-if you lose, I'm going to laugh at you for the rest of your life-"

Xian Di paused. He turned back, looked at Satoru Gojo's infuriating grin, and shook his head helplessly.

"Quit jinxing me. Just watch."

With that, he turned and walked down from the stands at an unhurried pace.

Wana called out behind him, "Go, Kamo!"

Xian Di didn't turn around. He merely raised a hand and gave a small wave.

The referee was already standing in the center of the Combat Arena. He glanced down at his list, then raised his head and looked toward Kyoto Jujutsu High's stands.

"Fifth match-Kyoto Jujutsu High, first year, Yuko Kurokawa."

After a brief rustling in Kyoto Jujutsu High's stands, a figure rose.

She was a girl, short and slender, with her hair tied in a loose ponytail and a few stray locks hanging beside her cheeks. She wore Kyoto Jujutsu High's uniform, but her collar was crooked and her sleeves untidy. She looked as though someone had just dragged her out of bed.

She rubbed her eyes, yawned, and slowly made her way down from the stands. Her pace suggested she was heading to the cafeteria for lunch rather than an important match.

Standing on the platform, Xian Di watched his opponent climb up onto the Combat Arena one step at a time and raised an eyebrow.
