It was already afternoon when they returned to Jujutsu High.

Utahime and Mei Mei went to report on the mission. Utahime still looked annoyed as she left, muttering things like "Those two bastards" and "One of these days, I'll teach them to respect their senior."

The others headed for the gym.

The gym stood on the east side of Jujutsu High, a gray building that had seen better days. Countless footsteps had worn the stone steps at its entrance smooth, and the wooden doors creaked when pushed open, as though greeting them. Inside, the dark brown wooden floor had been polished so clean that it reflected their figures. The windows on either side were high up, and sunlight streamed through them, casting patches of gold across the floor.

Basketball hoops stood quietly at either end of the court. Their white nets were a little old and frayed around the edges, but still looked clean in the sunlight.

Satoru Gojo rushed in first. He ran to the center of the court, bent down, picked up a basketball, and turned to throw it one-handed. The ball traced a high arc through the air and swished cleanly through the hoop. The net swayed gently, then settled.

"Nice shot," Suguru Geto said from beside him.

Satoru Gojo turned around, planted his hands on his hips, and lifted his chin.

"Of course."

Xian Di walked to the other end of the court, picked up another ball, dribbled twice, and took a jump shot. The ball bounced off the rim once, then again, before rolling in.

Satoru Gojo clicked his tongue.

"Lucky."

Xian Di glanced at him without a word, picked up the ball, and shot again. This time, it went straight through.

Then he turned to look at Gojo, his meaning clear: *Got anything else
