Zhiyan strengthened his Ten Shadows Technique under Toji’s harsh training while protecting Wana and welcoming Shoko into the Zenin Clan. He became engaged to Shoko to shield her from Jujutsu Headquarters, and the arc ended with him introducing her as his fiancée at a gathering of the Three Great Families.

• Naobito named Zhiyan heir after he demonstrated the Divine Dogs, and Zhiyan began training with Toji despite Ogi’s opposition.
• Zhiyan subdued Nue, then survived Toji’s cursed-spirit challenge and learned to fight more effectively through their sparring sessions.
• Zhiyan exchanged portions of his shikigami’s cursed energy sources with his own, gaining their abilities through a symbiotic circulation.
• Zhiyan protected Wana from Curse Users, and Wana befriended Shoko Ieiri, whom Zhiyan later recognized as a rare Reverse Cursed Technique user.
• Naobito warned that Jujutsu Headquarters wanted Shoko, so Zhiyan proposed an engagement to protect her, and Shoko and her parents agreed.
• Zhiyan arranged for Shoko’s family to move to Kyoto, and he and Shoko prepared to attend a banquet hosted by the Three Great Families.
• At the banquet, Zhiyan introduced Shoko as his fiancée to Kamo Xian Di and Satoru Gojo, and Shoko reassured him as the gathering continued.

Zhiyan and his companions left the Zenin estate for Tokyo Jujutsu High, where they built friendships, completed their first mission, and prepared for the Goodwill Event. The arc ended with Wana injured in her match against Shinya Zenin, but refusing to give up as he moved in to attack again.

• Zhiyan sparred with Satoru Gojo, then left the Zenin estate with Shoko, Wana, Gojo, and Kamo Xian Di to attend Tokyo Jujutsu High.
• Zhiyan and the others met Suguru Geto, Mei Mei, Utahime Iori, and Masamichi Yaga, then began classes and combat training together.
• Zhiyan and Geto defeated a Grade 1 cursed spirit at an abandoned factory, and the group celebrated their first mission afterward.
• Toji invited Zhiyan, Shoko, and Wana to dinner, where Shoko treated Zhuzhi’s brain tumor with Reverse Cursed Technique.
• Yaga announced the Goodwill Event, and Shoko chose not to compete because she trusted Zhiyan and the others to win.
• Satoru Gojo defeated Takuma Tanaka in the first individual match, and Wana faced Shinya Zenin in the second.
• Shinya cut Wana with a hidden Cursed Tool, but Wana refused to surrender and took her fighting stance again.
