Kashimo caught Kinji Hakari's arm with a backhanded grip, his fingers tightening as though around a dead branch. With a casual fling, he sent Hakari hurtling like a thrown stone into the ruins of a distant building. Broken bricks and dust erupted into a murky cloud where he landed.
His other hand had already curled into a fist. He swung, and before Kento Nanami could even make out its path, the blow struck his temple. He dropped straight to the ground as though all his strength had been drained away. His Cursed Tool blade slipped from his hand with a sharp metallic clang.
On Fenghua's side, the battle had reached a fever pitch.
Rika kept attacking from the flank, her enormous fists crashing toward Fenghua again and again, forcing her to divide her attention between fighting Okkotsu and dodging. Every time she was about to slash at Okkotsu, Rika's fist came hurtling out of her blind spot, forcing her half a step back.
"Tch, stay out of my way!"
Fenghua's brow furrowed, and she abruptly twisted her blade. The Sky-Piercing Blade traced a cold, fierce arc through the air, severing both of Rika's arms. The white limbs spun several times before landing in a spray of dust. Barely pausing, Fenghua raised her blade and swung at Okkotsu.
Okkotsu raised his sword to block.
The blades collided in a shower of sparks. Okkotsu's sword held for only an instant before snapping, its broken blade spinning away to lodge in the distant rubble. Okkotsu did not retreat. His fist drove upward from below, slamming into the left side of Fenghua's abdomen. Pain shot through her, a trace of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.
