Qin Siyang slept deeply.
He was utterly exhausted.
Seven consecutive Large God trials, plus the Land-Carrying Mirage's second-phase "island raising," had all but drained him dry.
Even though he had just broken through to domain sequence level three, it had only forcibly suppressed some of his injuries. The exhaustion he had accumulated still weighed heavily on him.
Before long, however, the gentle sound of waves in his ears suddenly fell still.
It was as though a wall had enclosed the distant waters.
To someone with senses as keen as Qin Siyang's, even this subtle change was enough to jolt him awake.
Qin Siyang immediately opened his eyes, sat upright, and looked into the distance.
He gripped the Godslayer Spear tightly, his gaze searching carefully.
[Something's coming.]
"I heard it."
Yet there was nothing to see anywhere within sight.
After a moment's thought, Qin Siyang decided against piloting the Capsule Pod straight over.
He turned, pushed open the hatch, and stepped outside.
Everyone on the island had been resting. When they saw him emerge, Hu Chan was the first to stand. "President Qin, you noticed it too?"
Qin Siyang nodded and pointed toward the distant sea. "Can your scouting skill see exactly what's over there?"
"People."
"How many?"
Hu Chan's brows knitted tightly. "I can't make them out."
"Even with your skills at domain sequence level two?"
"Yes. All I can see is a blurry patch, but they definitely aren't Large Gods. The enemy either has exceptional concealment tools or a higher sequence level than mine."
Qin Siyang's gaze turned cold. "The development of tools in regions outside ours is negligible. That leaves only one possibility."
"An enemy at a higher level than you has appeared."
Hu Chan looked at Qin Siyang. "President Qin, what do we do?"
