The Second Domain's main city really had sunk here.
Zhao Fengjun murmured, "The Safe Zone from over eighty years ago... it looks like there's no one left alive?"
Quan Taibin stared at the image. "And the blast-resistant glass hasn't completely shattered."
Only then did everyone notice the enormous transparent dome covering the city.
It was clearly blast-resistant glass meant to keep out the gods.
Many cracks had opened across the dome, and some sections had collapsed into the Safe Zone.
Yet a considerable portion of the blast-resistant glass remained intact, like a broken transparent bowl turned upside down on the seabed.
Rather than damage from battle, it looked more like the result of years of neglect.
This meant that when Second Domain City sank to the seabed, its blast-resistant glass had not been destroyed.
It might even have held out underwater for a long time.
The probe continued to descend, its camera sweeping over a stretch of city wall.
Thick black anchor chains studded the outside of the wall.
Those chains extended from inside the city and plunged deep into the seabed below, as though the Second Domain had deliberately anchored itself here.
Qin Siyang's gaze sharpened.
Hu Chan understood what he was seeing, too. "They stopped here on their own?"
Gu Yunzheng said gravely, "At the very least, it doesn't look like they were forced to sink."
The image shook again.
Swept along by the Star Stream, the probe drew close to the city gates.
The gates had warped. The two enormous metal doors stood half open, with a broken silver-gray warship wedged between them.
The ship's bow had crashed into the gates, while its hull had snapped off outside.
A line of Blacksoil Language script was engraved on the bow.
