The two turned around and saw that the speaker was Shi Tao.
Shi Tao's face was flushed crimson. He cradled a pile of what looked like scrap in both hands, his eyes bulging. "I only lent you five in total! And you broke four?!"
Rong Xin scratched his head. "Brother Tao, I didn't break them. Chu Baxing did..."
"Does that make a difference?! Does that make a difference?!!"
"I gave you five Tier-Three God-Hunting Artifacts! You had an extra year of systematic training at Southern Glory! Losing to a freshman is one thing, but how did you lose four artifacts in the process?!"
Qin Siyang said to Hu Chan beside him, "What did I tell you? What little Rong Xin had on him was nowhere near enough to handle Chu Baxing. Come on, let's hurry back so you can give me Zhang Yingrui's corpse."
Hu Chan glanced at Rong Xin, hesitated briefly, then followed Qin Siyang.
"Brother Tao, you really can't blame me. Chu Baxing was ridiculously strong. All I can say is that the Tier-Three God-Hunting Artifacts were completely useless against him. Though I don't think he shocked me quite as much as Qin Siyang did, he's still indisputably the second-strongest freshman this year..."
When the words "indisputably" and "second-strongest freshman" drifted into Hu Chan's ears, he abruptly stopped walking.
Qin Siyang turned to look at him. "Why did you stop?"
"President Qin, go back to the Guesthouse first. I'll come find you in a bit."

Before Qin Siyang could finish his question, Hu Chan vanished from sight like a shot.
Qin Siyang frowned. "He didn't answer a call or receive a message, so why does he suddenly have something to do? He's not trying to pull some little trick on me, is he?"
