| Anemo power acquired through statue resonance | 2 23 | Gained Anemo without a Vision by resonating with a Statue of The Seven before the opening events. Her early attempt to summon wind produces only a few wisps that quickly disperse. |
| Improved Elemental Burst performance with Gabrielina’s sword | 4 | Receives a Manifestation Art longsword and creates a six- or seven-meter tornado that sweeps up even large Slimes. Reports almost none of the discomfort she previously experienced after using her Burst. |
| Stronger wind-pressure attack demonstrated | 6 | The gemstone on her chest glows teal as she releases violent wind currents during the Hilichurl-camp battle. Gabrielina also intervenes with black projectiles, so the camp’s defeat is a joint result. |
| Corruption-purification ability confirmed | 25 26 | Dvalin’s corrupted tear changes from red to clear blue while in her possession. She subsequently demonstrates deliberate purification under Venti’s observation. |
Background / History
Lumine and her twin brother traveled together through many worlds. She recalls ocean-covered worlds with fish-tailed inhabitants, wars between mechanical armies and mech pilots, and kingdoms ruled by dragons capable of taking human form. Before their separation, she remembered these journeys as happy times 44.
After arriving in Teyvat, both twins sensed something terrible and prepared to leave. The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles separated them, sealed Lumine away, and stripped her of her original power. Lumine does not know how many years passed before she awoke 4 44.
She initially wandered alone, meeting Paimon two months before her encounter with Gabrielina. Her search for her brother leads her toward Mondstadt, where she hopes to obtain help from the Anemo Archon 3 4.
Appearance
Lumine is a petite, fair-skinned young woman with blond hair and amber eyes 2 3 37.
- Hair ornaments: Flowers beside a braid tied with golden thread 3.
- Chest gemstone: Gives off a teal glow when her Anemo power intensifies 6.
- Relative height: Gabrielina stands at least half a head taller than her, even while barefoot 7.
Personality
Lumine is gentle, considerate, and quick to offer practical help. She checks Gabrielina for injuries, reassures Paimon when the latter worries about intruding, and encourages Noelle to treat her as a friend rather than a superior. Her advice to Noelle emphasizes rest and reflection instead of constant work 19 22 30.
Her kindness does not prevent caution or independent judgment. She initially fears Gabrielina’s destructive power, investigates Venti because she believes he can communicate with Dvalin, and deduces his divine identity from his knowledge and connection to the dragon. She also stops Paimon from revealing her brother’s abduction to him before she is ready 3 25 27 43.
Lumine remains courageous despite doubts about her reduced strength. She tries to follow Gabrielina into Stormterror’s tornado and accepts Amber’s dangerous aerial-combat test. Beneath that capable exterior, she fears that her brother may be dead and worries that relying on Gabrielina emotionally could become a burden 9 23 40 44 49.
Abilities & Skills
Anemo Manipulation
Lumine uses Anemo without a Vision, having gained access to it through resonance with a Statue of The Seven 23.
- Elemental Burst: Creates a large tornado that carries enemies away; Gabrielina’s sword appears to improve both its effectiveness and Lumine’s recovery afterward 4.
- Wind Blades: Projects cutting wind attacks and uses them to sweep aside incoming projectiles 27 40.
- Palm Vortex: Uses its recoil to disengage after helping expose the Eye of the Storm’s defenses 27.
- Limits: Her attacks cannot penetrate the Eye of the Storm’s core defenses unaided. Sustained, intense use of Anemo leaves her pale, sweating, and short of breath 27 40.
Swordsmanship and Combat Judgment
Her swordplay is described as simple but fast enough to suppress a clumsy Hilichurl 6.
- Disarms opponents, blocks attacks from behind, and combines sword strikes with evasive footwork 6.
- Coordinates with Gabrielina against the Eye of the Storm, drawing its defenses toward one point so Gabrielina can strike the exposed opening 27.
- Maintains clean, efficient sword movements even while physically exhausted 40.
Elemental Sight
Lumine can perceive elemental traces in her surroundings and uses this ability to track people and objects 25 39.
- Follows Venti’s trail of Anemo footprints through Mondstadt 25.
- Identifies Anemo residue on damaged Wind Glider scraps during the pursuit of Strange Bird 39.
- Uses Elemental Sight so naturally that Gabrielina compares it to breathing; Diluc explains that maintaining it requires considerable elemental affinity 48.
Purification
Lumine can cleanse the corruption within Dvalin’s Tear Crystals, an ability Venti recognizes as extraordinary 26.
- Carries a corrupted crystal that painfully repels Lisa’s Vision-based elemental energy 24.
- Purifies tears without destroying them, unlike Gabrielina’s energy-draining attempt 26.
- Applies two purified crystals to partially restore the ancient Skyward Harp. More crystals are needed before it can be used to communicate with Dvalin 41.
Gliding and Aerial Combat
Lumine learns to use a Wind Glider under Amber’s guidance and successfully controls it during Stormterror’s attack 9.
- Passes the first licensing test by following a course of glowing rings at Windrise 37.
- Performs Amber’s final test during a live pursuit, throwing Baron Bunnies at monsters while dodging arrows, Slimes, debris, and explosions 40.
- Crosses a broken bridge by following Amber into a hidden updraft 40.
- Her unusually long time airborne during Stormterror’s attack is possibly assisted by the mysterious voice later identified as Venti, rather than an established increase in her own endurance 10 43.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Dull Blade — Her initial sword, snapped in two by Gabrielina during their first encounter 2 3.
- Manifestation Art longsword — A black blade with dark-gold patterns, created and gifted by Gabrielina. It feels warm and almost alive; during the Strange Bird pursuit, it easily breaks the Treasure Hoarders’ crude weapons 4 40.
- Wind Glider — Given to her by Amber and used for travel, emergency maneuvering, and her licensing tests 9 37 40.
- Dvalin’s Tear Crystals — Carries and purifies these to help restore the Skyward Harp 24 26 41.
- Book about Dvalin — Given to her by Lisa during the temple investigation 22.
- Baron Bunnies — Temporarily supplied by Amber for the aerial assault in Lumine’s final gliding test 40.
Relationships
- Aether — Her missing twin brother and former companion across worlds. Gabrielina privately knows he is alive and associated with the Abyss Order, but Lumine remains unaware of his fate 27 44.
- Paimon — Traveling companion who helps search for her brother. Lumine protects her during danger, promises her meals, and reassures her that she is welcome when she worries about interfering with Lumine and Gabrielina’s closeness 4 6 9 19.
- Gabrielina — Traveling companion, protector, and increasingly intimate confidante. Their relationship includes shared beds, handholding, mutual concern, and attraction. Lumine deliberately returns Gabrielina’s comforting embrace to strengthen their friendship; no formal romantic relationship is established in the supplied chapters 22 29 37 44 48 49 50.
- Amber — Mondstadt guide, combat ally, and gliding instructor. Offers to help post notices for Lumine’s brother and later entrusts her with a demanding aerial test 6 37 40.
- Jean — Recognizes Lumine’s service to Mondstadt, rewards her with Mora, and asks her to accept honorary knighthood 12 24.
- Venti — Ally in the effort to save Dvalin and the Anemo Archon Lumine seeks. She gradually deduces his identity, although his casual behavior makes her question his dignity and apparent strength 25 27 28 43.
- Lisa — Temple companion who explains Dvalin’s history and teases Lumine about her interest in Gabrielina 22 23.
- Kaeya — Expresses sympathy for her separation from her brother and promises assistance once the dragon crisis is resolved 10.
- Diluc — Shelters the group after the cathedral incident and offers help after hearing Venti’s account of Dvalin’s condition 35.
- Noelle — An aspiring knight whom Lumine befriends and advises to rest rather than devote every spare moment to duties and training 30.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Arrival in Mondstadt
Lumine and Paimon witness Gabrielina’s devastating explosion outside Mondstadt. Lumine initially wonders whether the winged stranger is connected to the god who took her brother, but Gabrielina’s friendliness and gift of a replacement sword gradually reduce her fear. The trio meets Amber, helps clear a Hilichurl camp, and enters the city under her escort 1 2 3 4 6 7.
Stormterror Crisis and Honorary Knighthood
Stormterror’s attack interrupts Lumine’s first gliding lesson. Swept into the storm, she deploys her Wind Glider while Gabrielina confronts the dragon. Their public involvement leads to an invitation to the Knights’ headquarters and participation in the temple investigations. After the threatening whirlwinds are eliminated, Jean recognizes Lumine and Gabrielina as Honorary Knights 9 10 12 23 24.
Dvalin’s Tears and the Cathedral Incident
Lumine pursues Venti as a possible source of answers and discovers her ability to purify Dvalin’s tears. She agrees to help retrieve the cathedral’s harp as part of his plan to save the dragon. An Electro Cicin Mage ambushes the group underground, but Gabrielina defeats her; the travelers then escape to Diluc’s tavern, where Venti explains Dvalin’s history 25 26 28 29 34 35.
Strange Bird Pursuit
While pursuing Strange Bird with Amber, Lumine tracks elemental evidence and fights through Treasure Hoarder ambushes. Gabrielina stays behind to handle a diversion, leaving Lumine and Amber to enter the ruins. Lumine’s final gliding test becomes an aerial assault, followed by a dangerous crossing and an exhausting battle before Gabrielina arrives to stop the thief 39 40.
Trust and the Continued Crystal Search
During a late-night conversation, Lumine confides her fear and loneliness to Gabrielina and falls asleep in her arms. Her embrace the next morning is a deliberate response to that support. The pair later investigates a supposed tear crystal at Dadaupa Gorge, but the sealed Sword Cemetery contains a Sword Prototype instead. Lumine helps Gabrielina out of the lake after the barrier expels her 44 48 49 50.
