Obito tossed the sealed Yagura aside, looking utterly bedraggled.
"Damn it! How could that guy be so strong..."
He removed his mask, his expression darkening to the extreme.
Ever since inheriting Madara Uchiha's legacy, he had never suffered a loss this severe.
Recalling everything he had just experienced, Obito felt increasingly shaken. It wasn't that he was weak, but that Shinichi was so strong he barely seemed human. He had only ever felt that same crushing despair in the presence of Madara Uchiha.
No. If that guy interferes again, I might not be able to carry out my plan at all!
Obito thought to himself.
He had assumed that the Kamui in just one of his eyes was enough to let him roam the Shinobi World unchallenged. Only after experiencing Shinichi's Kamui firsthand did he realize how naïve he had been.
Should I go to Konoha and take back my other eye?
As he recalled his former best friend, a trace of pain and hatred flickered deep in Obito's eyes.
With only one Mangekyō Sharingan, he had absolutely no hope of standing against Shinichi, so his thoughts instinctively turned to his other eye.
After much agonizing, he ultimately abandoned the idea.
It wasn't that he lacked the ability to retrieve his eye. Deep down, he simply didn't want to face Kakashi.
Yet once certain thoughts took root in someone's heart, even that person might not be able to control what happened next.
"Whatever happens... I'll have to put my plans against Konoha on hold for now."
Obito let out a soft sigh.
As long as that guy remained in Konoha, he wouldn't dare set foot in its territory lightly.
He feared he might never make it back.
