The next day, the Third Hokage publicly announced that Shimura Danzō had been stripped of his position as Elder Advisor, causing quite a stir in Konoha. He did not announce the temporary change in Root's leadership to the village, but every elite ninja of Jonin rank or above, along with the Konoha High Command, knew about it.
After all, Root was a highly secretive organization. The Third Hokage could hardly reveal its existence to the public.
To everyone's surprise, Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura, who had always stood by Danzo, raised no objections whatsoever to the Third Hokage's decision.

Several of the village's most important figures had spoken, and the decision had come from the Third Hokage himself. What could anyone else possibly dare to say? Naturally, it passed unanimously. Only an idiot would stand up and oppose it now.
