The liveliest place in the Great Cang Kingdom, Capital City teemed with people everywhere. It certainly lived up to its reputation as the political center.
Wenlong reached Capital City on his swift horse, removed his mask, and altered his appearance a little.
He changed his clothes as well, transforming into a graceful young gentleman. Pretending to be a visitor from out of town who knew nothing of Capital City, he asked an inn attendant to show him around.
Seeing the young man's fine clothes, the attendant guessed that he must be a young master from a wealthy family elsewhere. His face immediately blossomed into a smile, and words poured from his mouth like a rushing river as he introduced the city's various sights.
Wenlong promptly gave him a few pieces of silver and asked him to describe the scenery inside the imperial palace. The attendant's face blossomed into a smile again, this time like a flower opening to its fullest.
He put even more effort into describing the imperial sights, hoping to earn more tips. They wandered around Capital City for much of the day, though Wenlong's main purpose was naturally to gather information about the palace. Otherwise, he would be stumbling blindly in the dark once he entered.
Very pleased with the attendant's explanations, Wenlong gave him ten taels of silver. The attendant all but dropped to his knees in gratitude. This was a windfall falling straight from
