Shinji protected his mother from abuse within the Uchiha Clan, then joined Hatake Sakumo’s squad on the Sunagakure front and developed Flame Net to counter puppets. Konoha captured Sunagakure’s toxin stronghold, and Torifu Akimichi began organizing a gradual offensive as Shinji sensed his Sharingan nearing its next evolution.

• Shinji confronted Hachiro Uchiha over his family’s mistreatment, and Kagami punished Hachiro and arranged protection and restored benefits for Uchiha An.
• Shinji gathered with his friends and teammates, then asked Hatake Sakumo to assess his combat skills and learned the weaknesses of his sword techniques.
• Shinji joined Sakumo’s squad in the Land of Wind, helped repel Sunagakure ambushes, and killed a puppeteer with Purgatory Slash.
• Shinji developed Flame Net to disrupt puppets’ Chakra Threads, and Konoha used the technique to defeat Sand Fox’s forces despite their traps and poisons.
• Tsunade arrived at the front with Yakushi Nonō, Shizune, and Shiketsu Aburame, and Konoha launched an assault on Chiyo’s toxin stronghold.
• Shinji and the Konoha forces fought through Sunagakure’s defenses as Chiyo deployed her elite puppets, poison, and traps.

Shinji and the Hatake Squad helped turn Konoha’s assault on Sunagakure into a decisive victory, but Dan Katō died and Tsunade’s fear of blood returned. The war ended in peace agreements, and Shinji was promoted to Jonin and awarded the Konoha Hero Medal.

• Torifu Akimichi ended the Stone Mill Offensive and launched the Great Avalanche Offensive, assigning Sakumo’s squad to the right flank against Wenshu and Huxia.
• Shinju’s Three-Tomoe Sharingan awakened during the battle at Wind Howling Gorge, and he and Sakumo’s squad later defeated Wenshu and Huxia at Sandstone Fortress.
• Konoha began its assault on Sunagakure’s main force, but Bunpuku unleashed Shukaku’s sand attacks and devastated the right flank.
• Shinji, Hizashi, and Miwako coordinated their defense against Shukaku, while Tsunade awakened the Strength of a Hundred Technique and pushed Chiyo back.

Shinji strengthened his power and influence within the Uchiha while developing new chakra and mental training methods. When Danzo’s scheme brought Sakumo’s reputation down and forced his apparent death, Shinji helped bury him and promised to protect Kakashi.

• Shinji returned home to Uchiha An, then told Torifu Akimichi he would deter enemies with strength while seeking patience and conciliation within Konoha and the Uchiha clan.
• Hatake Sakumo disbanded his squad, and Shinji, Hizashi, Miwako, and Sakumo parted as comrades before Shinji woke the next morning remembering the team was gone.
• Shinji defended the Land of Fire’s border against Iwagakure shinobi, then clashed with A and Rasa, developing greater strength and returning to find Kagami Uchiha near death.
• After Kagami entrusted Shinji with the clan’s future, Shinji backed Fugaku as clan head and was appointed the Uchiha’s youngest elder.
• Shinji gathered specialists to develop the Chakra Double Helix Training Method and the Mind Observation Tempering Method, while warning Sakumo that Danzo’s mission could be a trap.
• Sakumo rescued a Senju orphan during his S-rank mission, and Danzo used the mission’s failure, coerced testimony, and rumors to turn Konoha against him.
• Shinji and Miwa Kato used a secret medicine to make Sakumo appear to die by suicide, allowing them to conceal his survival from officials and ANBU.
• Shinji hosted Sakumo’s funeral, confronted Danzo, scattered Sakumo’s ashes around Konoha, and promised Kakashi he would look after him and teach him to become strong.
