Chen Na's beautiful eyes widened.

Countless thoughts flashed through her mind, but none had time to take shape.

Shen Ye was already right in front of her.

The pressure bearing down on her nearly suffocated her.

The black pistol slipped from her fingers, hit the ground, and bounced once.

Meeting Shen Ye's icy gaze, she forced her lips into a flattering smile.

"Please, don't kill me."

"Yang Feng forced me to do it."

"As long as you spare me, I'll do anything."

As she spoke, she edged another half step closer, deliberately exposing the Mariana Trench of cleavage cinched out by her prop.

She firmly believed all men liked this sort of thing, especially the hot-blooded young man before her. With her looks, there was no reason she couldn't win him over.

But she had completely underestimated Shen Ye.

Having lived two lives, what kind of woman hadn't he seen?

He saw through Chen Na's little scheme almost instantly.

"No... don't kill..."

Before she could finish with "me," an invisible blade had swept across her neck.

Chen Na's body stiffened for an instant.

Her head, framed by shoulder-length brown hair, slipped from her shoulders and rolled to the roadside, faceup.

Her still-open eyes retained the confusion and resentment she had felt before death.

Her headless body swayed for two seconds, then crumpled limply to the ground.

Shen Ye didn't spare her another glance.

He turned and swept his gaze over the battlefield.

Zhou Zhiqiang lay facedown on the ground, his entire body covered in countless densely packed blade wounds.

His gray-brown beast hide had faded away, restoring his human form. He looked as though he had been dragged out of a pool of blood.

His beast transformation had ended, but a fierce will to survive still sustained his last breath.

Yet Yang Feng, who had been lying beside him moments earlier, was gone.

Shen Ye snapped his gaze up.

Just in time to see a puff of white smoke burst from the black Rolls-Royce's exhaust.

The engine's roar was amplified endlessly along the silent highway.

At Yang Feng's command, the Rolls-Royce made a sharp U-turn and merged into the fleeing vehicles of the Blood Eagle Convoy.

Shen Ye narrowed his eyes slightly and flicked his right hand.

Ghost Head left his hand, shooting out like a dark red arrow.

The blade became visible the instant it left his grip, trailing a crimson afterimage beneath the blazing sun.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom's rear window and back seat were pierced in succession as though they were paper, followed by the back of the driver's seat.

Just as a smile of relief began to appear on Yang Feng's face,

Ghost Head's tip suddenly burst through his chest, pinning him to the seat.

As long as I'm alive, I can always make a comeback.

That was Yang Feng's final thought.

He couldn't comprehend how the Weird Object weapon he had spent so many days scheming to obtain had ended up taking his life instead.

He lowered his head to look at the length of dark red blade protruding from his chest. Before the horror in his eyes could fade, he stopped breathing.

The vehicle went out of control and slammed headfirst into the roadside guardrail.

Its hood crumpled, sending up wisps of white smoke.

The remaining members of the Blood Eagle Convoy were utterly stunned by the sight, standing rooted to the spot. Their minds went blank, unable to comprehend what had happened.

They looked at Chen Na's headless corpse on the ground, then at Zhou Zhiqiang lying in a pool of blood, then at the wrecked Rolls-Royce in the distance. Little by little, the bewilderment on their faces turned to fear.

A few who reacted quickly turned and ran.

Shen Ye glanced back at the remaining people, his expression indifferent. He didn't consider them a threat at all.

He looked at He Yunping nearby and ordered, "Have our people surround them first. Don't let a single one get away."

Without waiting for a reply, he hurried toward the Rolls-Royce that had crashed to a stop beside the road.

Through the shattered window, he could see Yang Feng slumped in the driver's seat, his head tilted to one side. He was already dead.

Shen Ye reached for the car door, but it was locked.

Without a moment's hesitation, he slammed a fist into the window.

Countless cracks spread across the tempered glass. His second punch shattered the entire pane.

Shen Ye first pulled Ghost Head out of the seat, wiped the blood off on Yang Feng's clothes, and set it aside.

Then he seized Yang Feng's arm, forcibly dragged the corpse through the narrow window, and tossed it onto the ground.

Turning the corpse over, he found his target.

A red crystal was attached to Yang Feng's back.

It was the very one Chen Na had used on him earlier.

An eerie red glow shimmered across the crystal's surface. Countless tiny blood-red tendrils remained embedded in Yang Feng's flesh. Like leeches, they refused to let go even after his death, continuing to suck up his remaining blood.

It took Shen Ye considerable effort to wrench the thing free, tearing away a large patch of flesh along with it.

He wasn't disgusted in the slightest. He wiped it clean on the corpse's clothes and immediately began examining it.

The next second, information flooded into his mind.

Weird Object: Crimson Leech Heart Type: Eldritch item Number: None Traits: Blood leech parasitism: Once activated, the crystal releases dozens of blood-red tendrils that burrow into the user's body. The tendrils consume necrotic tissue around wounds while releasing stimulating Eldritch energy to promote new flesh growth, healing most external injuries in an extremely short time. Borrowing against the future: Greatly increases combat power for a short period at the cost of depleting the user's future vitality. Strength, speed, and recovery increase dramatically across the board. Pain is greatly reduced, and the user enters a frenzied state resembling "blood boil." Lasts approximately fifteen minutes. After "blood boil" ends, the user is forced into a weakened state lasting five to seven calendar days. Description: A Weird Object formed from the crystallized fragments of an unknown Eldritch creature's heart.

After reading it, undisguised disdain flashed in Shen Ye's eyes.

Compared to Ghost Head, it fell far short.

Never mind the weakened state lasting nearly a week-the permanent reduction in vitality alone left him with no desire to use it.

Still, distaste aside, it was a Weird Object that could offer a chance of survival in a desperate situation. Without hesitation, he pocketed the Crimson Leech Heart, picked up Ghost Head, and strode back to the convoy.

On the highway, He Yunping had already led the others in completely surrounding the Blood Eagle Convoy.

After Yang Feng and Chen Na's deaths, these people had lost all will to fight. Even the few who had initially looked vicious had shrunk back, obediently squatting on the ground. None dared raise their heads.

Shen Ye didn't look at them.

Blade in hand, he walked straight up to Zhou Zhiqiang, who lay facedown on the ground, barely alive.

Zhou Zhiqiang still had one last breath in him.

He struggled to lift his eyelids and saw those crimson eyes looking down at him. His lips moved as he tried to say something.

Shen Ye gave him no chance.

One thrust pierced his heart.

Clean and decisive, without a trace of mercy.

Zhou Zhiqiang's body suddenly stiffened, then went completely limp.

[Killing Points +89] [Blood Feast stacks +1, slight increase in strength]

The members of the Blood Eagle Convoy watched it happen, their hearts sinking further.

The shadow of death descended, and fear finally overwhelmed reason.

No one knew who started it, but several of the squatting people suddenly sprang up, shoved aside the Dawn Convoy members guarding them, and charged frantically toward their vehicles, trying to fight for a chance to survive.

Without even turning his head, Shen Ye coldly uttered a few words.

"Kill them all. Leave none alive."

His voice seemed to carry some kind of magic, sending every member of the Dawn Convoy into a frenzy.

They grabbed whatever weapons they could use and went into action.

He Yumin was the quickest.

He was already in his forties and usually looked mild-mannered, but when he got ruthless, he still had plenty of strength.

He grabbed a burly man who was about to climb into a vehicle and forcibly dragged him off the running board.

The next second, Shen Ye was already beside them.

His hand rose, and the blade fell.

The burly man's head went flying.

Then the same scene played out over and over along the highway.

Shen Ye darted between the vehicles and the crowd, every swing of his ghostly blade claiming a life.

The thirty-seven members of the Blood Eagle Convoy who hadn't managed to escape fell to his blade, one after another.

There were no screams, no pleas. Every cut was clean and decisive, too fast for them to feel any pain.

In less than five minutes, everything fell silent.

Blood stained the entire stretch of highway red. Beneath the scorching sun, it quickly dried into vast patches of blackish stains on the asphalt.
