The rising hot wind tousled Baby 5's hair, but when she saw Sephiroth standing on the balcony diagonally across from her, she broke into a radiant smile.

But a moment later, Baby 5 let her hands drop.
She had messed things up. She had killed Mr. 5 outright.
Whether they wanted information or to capture a Devil Fruit user, taking Mr. 5 alive would have been better.
"What's wrong? Cheer up."
Sephiroth jumped down from the balcony and patted Baby 5's head.
He had been watching from the sidelines since the battle began.
After learning Haki through the Memory Crystal and being supplied with electromagnetic weapons, Baby 5's overall strength was roughly on par with a Marine Headquarters Rear Admiral.
The Arms-Arms Fruit was indeed powerful, but it wasn't nearly as absurd as some of the theories Sephiroth had seen in his previous life.
There were two ways to acquire a weapon form.
The first was to have used that weapon and understand how it worked and how it was constructed.
The second applied when she had never seen the actual weapon. In addition to the first set of requirements, she also had to understand its underlying principles.
Only by satisfying one of those two conditions could the user transform into that weapon.
So excessively complicated weapons would put the user's comprehension to the test.
Otherwise, if she could casually turn into an ancient weapon, the fruit would probably command an even higher bounty than the Op-Op Fruit.
There was also one restriction that hardly counted as a restriction: she couldn't turn into a living weapon.

Perhaps to keep herself from getting discouraged, Baby 5 forced a strained smile.
