A streak of blue light descended onto the covered walkway outside the library, and Sephiroth materialized within its glow.
This was Kuja Castle's book tower, which served much the same purpose as a library.
Vermilion wooden supports held up towering Chinese-style tiled roofs, with clouds and auspicious beasts carved into the beams and pillars.
It had very much the same style as the ornate red mansions of the Celestial Empire of the Blue Star.
The kingdom of Amazon Lily was one of the few countries in this world with an "Eastern" style.
This world's official language was Eagle Language, while the Kuja language was very close to Chinese and also used Chinese characters.
Although Kuja customs leaned more toward those of Blue Star's "Amazons," their culture and architecture were more "Chinese."
There were other Chinese-style countries, too.
For example, Jianshan Island, the Longarm Tribe's homeland, had a style resembling the Qing dynasty. Flower Country leaned toward the Tang and Song dynasties.
There was more than one Japanese-style country, too.
Wano Country went without saying. Golden Lion and Issho also each came from a "Japanese-style" country.
Although these Eastern-style countries were not the mainstream, they still accounted for a substantial share of this world's culture.
The Marines, for example, were particularly fond of using Chinese characters.

He followed the walkway and entered the library through a side door.
The latticed windows along the tower's exterior divided the light, letting sunlight fall softly onto the dark wooden floor.
The air carried a mingled scent of paper, ink, and medicinal herbs.

A Kuja librarian he encountered along the way froze upon recognizing Sephiroth, then carefully greeted him with an admiring gaze and a
