Once Sephiroth and Reiju landed, Tashigi sprang out of Sephiroth's bridal carry.
The Smooth-Smooth Fruit's power let her dash across the rubble even without protecting herself with Armament Haki. She jogged off to find her jacket and shoes.
Page One left his hybrid dragon form, returned to human form, and walked up to Sephiroth.
"Lord Sephi."
Page One wouldn't call him "brother-in-law" in front of outsiders.
"Thanks for your hard work, Page One. How's your injury?"
Page One raised the hand that had been cut earlier and waved it.
"It's already been treated."
Not far from them, Carmel remained pinned to the ground by three white Lightsabers in his hybrid Phoenix form.
Wearing Marco's appearance, he had tried to break free, but his body hadn't responded at all.
Unlike the weakness caused by Seastone, Carmel couldn't feel his body whatsoever. Only his head still functioned normally.
He guessed it was a special power of the "Mythical Zoan: Great Angel" and cursed inwardly, but he gave up all thought of struggling and stopped his futile attempts.
In truth, the three Lightsabers were mostly for show. The real effect came from the needle-shaped "signal receivers" shot into his body under their cover. They temporarily blocked his nervous system, producing something akin to paralysis from the neck down.
"...To think it was you, you traitor."
Marco's lips twitched as he stared at a face identical to his own.
If Sephiroth hadn't told him the truth, Marco would never have guessed that this mysterious man was Carmel, who had abandoned the Whitebeard Pirates years ago.
-No, now that Carmel had murdered some of their captains, this was no longer abandonment. It was betrayal.
A trace of killing intent surfaced in Marco's eyes.
"Carmel, you bastard-you actually dared to break the Whitebeard Pirates' greatest taboo!"
