Li Jie shouted himself hoarse. The PKM's ammunition belt had run out, and its barrel glowed red-hot. Howls and roars drowned out the machine gun's thunder, surging toward them from every direction like a tide.
"So we're turtles in a cooking pot now?"
The bloody path the Batmobile had just carved ahead was instantly buried beneath a dense mass of demons. Wilson gripped the wheel and floored the accelerator. The Patrol Van roared into them, its windshield and tires producing a constant barrage of thuds and wet crunches.

Babbling back at him, Li Jie fed the first round of a fresh belt under the feed pawl. He had barely closed the feed cover when a shadow swept overhead. He instinctively ducked, and a sharp claw scraped across his helmet.
"Fuck you!"
Flame blasted nearly half a meter from the muzzle. A whip of 7.62 mm bullets lashed through the air, tearing three winged demons apart in a hail of gunfire. Mangled limbs rained down.
But more broke through the wall of fire.
A demon slammed into the Patrol Van's left side, its claws gouging three deep scratches into the bulletproof glass. Wilson wrenched the wheel, making the vehicle lurch violently and throwing the demon off.
"Try this!"
Constantine leaned out the passenger window with a small pouch in his hand. Chanting a string of strange syllables, he scattered its powder into the air.
The powder ignited, forming a silver net of fire. Demons that touched it shrieked, their wings instantly turning to ash as they plummeted from the sky.
"Forget it... too inefficient..."
Constantine pulled himself back inside and slumped wearily into his seat. "That was silver dust scraped off the Holy Cross. All gone in one shot."
