Li Jie felt he was burning with anger... no, he was under immense pressure, caught between men on both sides.
On his left sat a curious Barry Allen, and on his right, a silent Bane. Across from him was Batman, barely clinging to life. Beside him sat Wonder Woman, Diana, her face bruised and swollen, with a panting Kara on the other side.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on him, leaving him squirming in his seat, like the poor bastard tasked with helping the host entertain everyone at a drinking party.
"Sheriff," Batman rasped, "I need an explanation."
An explanation? How was I supposed to explain this? Tell him my ancestors might have been Saiyans?
Faora hadn't lasted even a second against the Flash Cannon. The torrent of energy engulfed her like a supernova, vaporizing her flesh, bones, and armor into elementary particles in an instant. Not even ashes remained.
The beam pierced the clouds, tearing a golden scar across the night sky that lingered for several seconds.
"Hahahaha..."
Li Jie-or rather, Lee Vegeta-planted his hands on his hips and roared with laughter.
"A bunch of ants."
This was so embarrassing... he thought, but there was nothing he could do. Even fighting desperately for control of his body only lowered the volume of the laughter a tiny bit.
He tilted his head slightly, dodging a heavy blow from behind.
"Heh. Too slow, small fry."
The Kryptonian warrior who had gone after Wonder Woman had returned. Even after witnessing Faora's death, he showed no fear, roaring as he lunged at Li Jie.
But Li Jie's body merely folded its arms and swayed from side to side on the spot, toying with the Kryptonian warrior like a cat playing with a mouse.
"Slow. Far too slow. What a feeble race."
