Black Mask might have been a lunatic with the attitude of a bratty little shit, but he wasn't stupid. Once he had finished showing off, he immediately ordered his convoy to split into three groups, preparing to encircle them.

"Wilson, back up! Back up!"

Li Jie watched a dozen or so vehicles break away from the main convoy and head east along Highway 9, clearly intending to attack their flank. The Patrol Van was already racing backward from its position near the front line, its reverse gear pushed to the limit.

He heaved his rifle into position and aimed through the drifting gunsmoke and curtain of rain at the massive engine compartment of the black SUV leading the detachment.

"Fucking... stall!"

The specialized 14.5 mm sniper round left the barrel with terrifying kinetic energy, crossing the distance of less than a hundred and fifty meters in an instant. The Navigator's entire front end seemed to take a blow from an invisible giant fist. Its engine disintegrated with a tremendous bang, flying in every direction along with the shattered hood. Thick smoke and flames erupted from the wreckage, turning the steel beast into a heap of burning scrap. The thugs inside shoved their doors open in terror and tumbled out engulfed in flames, screaming in agony.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Caught off guard, the vehicles behind it rear-ended one another, completely blocking the road ahead. Anna leaned out of the passenger window, braced the AR-15's stock firmly against her shoulder, and fired a series of short bursts. A thug who had just poked his head out from behind a vehicle and tried to spray them with gunfire dropped at once, a flower of blood blooming on his forehead.

"Woo-hoo! I got one! Did you see that?"

She turned toward Wilson, who shouted
