As he watched the Dragon Balls disappear, Son Goku suddenly realized that Slug had not left with them.
"Grand Elder, why didn't you leave?"
"I have something else to do." Slug looked off to one side. "My friends from Earth, King Cold's men are almost upon us. I'm sorry I can't fight alongside you."
"Huh?"
Son Goku and the other two froze. Before they could react, Slug suddenly hurled an Energy Blast into the air.
The Energy Blast had no target, but as it rose into the sky, it released a tremendous amount of light and heat, blinding Son Goku and his companions just like a Solar Flare.
In the distance, the troops charging toward them under the brothers Abo and Kado were also temporarily blinded by the light.
By the time Son Goku and the others regained their sight, Slug had vanished from view, and his Ki had disappeared with him.
"Goku! What's going on with that Grand Elder?" Krillin asked in surprise.
"Dad, did he run away?" Son Gohan guessed.
Son Goku shook his head. "I don't know. But Krillin, Gohan, our enemies are here! Get ready to fight!"
Almost as soon as Goku finished speaking, more than forty people swarmed toward them.
Seeing the devastation, the brothers Abo and Kado, who led the group, immediately pointed at Goku and his companions and ordered, "Attack! Kill them!"
Meanwhile, over by Lin Chen.
Golden flames enveloped him, his hair had turned gold and stood on end, and his green eyes held an icy chill.

Blazing golden flames, golden hair, and green eyes!
Ginyu narrowed his eyes.
