When Trunks suddenly attacked him, Son Goku thought little of it and simply transformed into Super Saiyan 2 to block the blow.
But to his surprise, Trunks's attack had already surpassed the power of Super Saiyan 2. A single punch sent Son Goku flying.
"Trunks?"
Bulma and the others nearby couldn't help crying out when they saw Trunks attack Son Goku.
Trunks didn't notice the astonishment on their faces. His attention was fixed entirely on Son Goku.
Only when Son Goku transformed into Super Saiyan Blue and gently caught his fist did Trunks suddenly realize that the man before him didn't seem to be the monster from his world.
"Are you... Mr. Goku?"
"Have you finally come to your senses, Trunks?"
Trunks finally understood. Looking at the shocked and bewildered people around him, he asked hesitantly, "Did I... did the Time Machine work?"
"Yes, Trunks! This is another world. Have you forgotten that you fought Cell here with us?" Bulma shouted.
Hearing her words, Trunks finally confirmed that he had made a mistake.
He immediately returned to his base form, his eyes reddening.
"I'm back... I'm really back..."
By the time Lin Chen received the news and arrived on Earth from Planet Vegeta, Trunks was telling Son Goku and the others what had happened after he returned to his own world following the battle against Cell.
He recounted everything from his fierce battle against the wizard Babidi and preventing Majin Buu's revival to the Supreme Kai's unexpected death.
Then peace had returned to the world. Humans and Androids had begun living together peacefully, building a new world together.
Finally, the evil Goku Black had appeared, killing more than half the world's human population and plunging the world back into endless darkness.
