It wasn't quite right to say he was bad with shuriken.
He had never practiced at all.
That class had been scheduled at such a shitty time.
Every single session clashed with the rush for discounted sweets.
Anyone could guess what happened next...
Sooner or later, he had to pay for all those skipped classes.
There was no escaping it, no matter when.
Still, with the scraps of memory left in his head and this body of his, it probably wouldn't be too hard.
Gojo Satoru had it all figured out.
It was just a shuriken. All he had to do was fling it, right?
He hoisted Sasuke up with one arm. "Yo, little Sasuke!"
"How about your big bro teaches you a few shuriken tricks?"
"You bastard! Put me down!" Sasuke's face darkened as he struggled wildly.
Only after his feet touched the ground did Sasuke ask, still scowling, "What are you up to now, you bastard?"
"Do you actually know how to use shuriken?"
His memory was perfectly fine. The class his brother ditched every day was called Practical Shuriken Training.
Sasuke eyed Gojo Satoru up and down skeptically.
Could he really be trusted?
But his brother was good at Fire Release, and even the instructor had praised his Taijutsu. A few shuriken shouldn't pose a problem.
Sasuke turned it over in his head several times before finally deciding to trust his second-oldest brother.
"You little brat. You actually dare doubt me?"
Sasuke's hesitation hit Gojo Satoru right where it hurt and stirred up his competitive streak.
Gojo Satoru thumped his chest. "Today, I'll open your eyes and show you your big bro's unbeatable shuriken skills."
His swagger swept Sasuke along, too.
Sasuke held his breath, his black eyes locked firmly on Gojo Satoru's arm.
Beautiful!
That throwing form was flawless!
Sasuke silently cheered.
As for the final result, it was also pretty...
??
Huh?
Was this a joke?
Sasuke stared at the target. Nine out of ten throws had gone who knew where, leaving him utterly stunned.
"Big bro, you call that unbeatable shuriken skills?"
"Are you messing with me?"
It was even worse than his own throwing.
Nine out of ten had...
Where did the last one go?
Alarm bells went off in Sasuke's head.
"Haha, my hand slipped."
"Just a little slip."
The corner of Gojo Satoru's mouth twitched as he slowly turned around.
Blood streamed down his forehead.
The whereabouts of the tenth shuriken were no longer a mystery.
"Big bro, you..."
Sasuke's eyes bulged like brass bells. He couldn't believe the sight before him.
The final shuriken sat gleaming, embedded in Gojo Satoru's head.
"Big bro, are you okay?"
Sasuke choked for a moment, then asked again in a quieter voice.
"Huh?"
"What could possibly happen to your big bro? I'm totally fine."
Gojo Satoru spread his lips into a smile as bright as a sunflower.
But paired with the blood pouring down his head, that smile looked horrifying from every angle.
"Big bro, your head..." Sasuke reminded him quietly.
"What about my head?" Gojo Satoru tilted his head and flashed another smile, as though trying to look cool.
"Big bro, stop moving already! There's still a shuriken stuck in your head."
Sasuke hurriedly held Gojo Satoru still.
He had no desire to see his brother die over something this ridiculous.
"Haha..."
Gojo Satoru burst out laughing, then kept spinning his tale.
"Haha, Sasuke, you're still little. You don't understand the finer points. This is called performance art."
Gojo Satoru bit the bullet and tried to explain his way out of it.
Did he really not know?
With a shuriken that huge nailed to his skull, he'd have to be blind not to know.
Couldn't Sasuke just let him save a little dignity as an older brother?
Please, stop digging.
Although Satoru Gojo's Limitless hadn't activated yet, meaning he was still a long way from absolute defense, this body's resilience and healing speed were both telling him: hang in there, you won't die.
"Big bro, are you really okay?"
"Maybe we should have Dad call a medical ninja for you."
Sasuke looked around, still undecided.
"Don't! Absolutely, definitely don't!"
"There's really no need!"
"Yours truly, Satoru, was just running low on sugar. The shortage got so bad that I lost focus for a second and my aim went off."
Gojo Satoru hurriedly steered Sasuke away from that idea, determined to squash it.
If word actually reached his dad and Itachi, he would be in for a hell of a time.
"See? I'm perfectly fine, aren't I?"
Gojo Satoru promptly performed a full three-hundred-and-sixty-degree spin on the spot and stuck the landing for Sasuke.
"You bastard! Stop moving around!" Sasuke snarled through clenched teeth.
Was he three years old?
Things were already this urgent, and he was still fooling around?
