Background / History
Wu Tiaowu awakens as a newborn in the Uchiha household. His white hair and blue eyes lead clan elders to question his ancestry and his mother’s faithfulness. She fiercely defends him, and Fugaku ends the dispute by recognizing him as his second son, Uchiha Satoru 1.
Satoru recognizes Itachi as the brother who could eventually massacre the clan. His initial pursuit of system power is driven by survival—and the prospect of a comfortable life with plentiful sweets. As he observes the hostility surrounding the Uchiha, his concern extends to ordinary clan members who could be dragged into violence without choosing it 1 2 6.
He initially investigates whether Hiruzen could provide a way out of the clan’s predicament. After testing the Hokage through the ramen contest and his influence at the Academy, Satoru concludes that Hiruzen cannot treat the village and the Uchiha fairly. With Danzō also threatening the clan, he decides that the Uchiha must leave Konoha; the supplied chapters do not show that departure taking place 24.
Appearance
- White hair and azure eyes: Unusual enough among the Uchiha to provoke doubts about his parentage at birth 1.
- Black blindfold: Covers much of his face, but does not prevent him from navigating or observing his surroundings 1 10 11.
- Uchiha clothing: Wears the clan outfit bearing its fan emblem during childhood 1.
- Childhood height: At five, he is nearly as tall as Itachi, who is almost eight 1.
- ANBU attire: Continues wearing his blindfold alongside a mask, a combination Kakashi questions 41.
- Rescue disguise: During the confrontation with Obito, he is perceived as a little girl called Satoru-ko whose appearance resembles Kakashi 32 33.
Personality
Satoru is irreverent, theatrical, and shameless about provoking others. He skips lessons to pursue discounted sweets, lounges in trees, and turns reprimands into jokes. His attachment to limited-edition dango is strong enough that Itachi’s confiscation of his sweets troubles him more than additional training 5 6 8 19.
His apparent carelessness conceals deliberate planning. He cultivates popularity at the Academy to secure an early exit, tests Hiruzen rather than trusting his prior knowledge of the character, and uses uncertainty to bluff Obito into retreating. He also withholds his strongest abilities when displaying them would attract unwanted attention 23 24 28 33.
Satoru distinguishes protecting people from pursuing power for its own sake. He opposes raising children to believe that missions justify killing or surrendering their humanity, and encourages them to question inherited hatred. Despite his incessant teasing, he protects his brothers and can become a precise, attentive teacher when he takes their difficulties seriously 6 21 22 24 32.
Abilities & Skills
Roleplay System
Satoru’s system unlocks abilities from a Satoru Gojo character template and provides a shop funded by roleplay or portrayal points 1 4.
- Points can purchase template progress or shop items 1.
- Provoking reactions through his performances and antics earns points, including during Sasuke’s lesson and the ramen contest 4 13.
- Shop purchases compete with advancement: Satoru notes that his template would be further unlocked if he had not spent so many points on expensive scrolls 22.
- After the Obito encounter, he recognizes that low template completion prevents him from using many abilities properly 34.
Six Eyes
His complete Six Eyes provide exceptional perception and fine control over chakra and cursed techniques 4.
- All-around vision: Observes behind himself and sees despite obstructions, allowing him to function while blindfolded 4 11.
- Energy analysis: Identifies ability users, reads ninjutsu, and tracks the trajectories of power to anticipate attacks 4.
- Technique reproduction: Reproduces observed ninjutsu and studies its energy flow to find more efficient applications 8.
- Fine-detail observation: Detects flaws in Sasuke’s movements and identifies how his developing body can exert force effectively 22.
- Hidden-content detection: Examines the concealed significance of the Uchiha stone tablet and recognizes Black Zetsu’s alterations 17.
- Attention limit: Seeing something does not guarantee consciously registering it. He overlooks Kakashi’s surveillance in a crowd at first and fails to react promptly to Itachi’s arrival while distracted 7 8.
Cursed Energy
Cursed energy rooted in Satoru’s soul constitutes his main power reserve; his visible chakra represents only a small portion of his strength 28.
- Can power ordinary ninjutsu, producing a stronger effect than chakra for comparable effort 8.
- Allows attacks and movement that observers cannot explain through chakra fluctuations 28 33.
- Can alter the inscription on the Uchiha stone tablet 17.
- Remains limited by his young body and stamina: his confrontation with Obito leaves him exhausted 33.
Blue and High-Speed Movement
Blue creates attraction and enables rapid movement, although his unlocked version is incomplete 4.
- Evades Itachi’s forehead flick and reappears behind him during an early childhood encounter 1.
- Uses high-speed teleportation derived from his techniques to appear behind Asuma and attack from unexpected positions 28.
- Leaves no visible teleportation mark or detectable chakra trace during the examination, preventing Orochimaru from identifying the method 30.
- Uses movement and shuriken instead of revealing his more conspicuous offensive powers 28.
Red
Red is a repulsive technique produced by feeding positive energy generated through Reverse Cursed Technique into Limitless. Satoru acquires an incomplete version by 31% template progress 22.
- The technique’s described minimum output is twice Blue’s; it requires no hand seals 22.
- Tears apart Obito’s Blast Wave Wild Dance, allowing Satoru and Itachi to emerge from the flames 33.
- Its unfamiliar energy and apparent destructive potential make Obito hesitate to continue the fight 33.
- Satoru cannot sustain that display: the first use drains him, while the second is nearly powerless and chiefly supports his bluff 33.
- The template’s theoretical capabilities should not be confused with his current output; Blue and Red remain incomplete after the encounter 34.
Ninjutsu
Satoru’s perception gives him unusual aptitude for ninjutsu, even when conventional observers judge his chakra reserves unimpressive 4 8 11.
| Nature / Technique | Documented application |
|---|---|
| Fire Release | Demonstrates a powerful fire technique across a lake while teaching Sasuke; later burns Orochimaru’s snake clone 4 21. |
| Earth Release | Erupts earth and stone beneath a charging Asuma, nearly knocking him off balance 27. |
| Wind Release | Strips away Asuma’s clothing during the graduation exam, then presents a fabric scrap to satisfy the pass condition 29. |
- Struggles with genjutsu that requires the Sharingan; Six Eyes specializes in perception rather than bewitching minds 8.
- Does not favor close-combat exchanges, despite possessing exceptional movement speed 8.
- Has not activated Limitless’s absolute defensive protection during the shuriken accident 19.
Shurikenjutsu and Teaching
Satoru initially neglects shuriken practice because it conflicts with discounted-sweets sales. His first attempted demonstration is disastrous, ending with a shuriken embedded in his own forehead 19.
- Rapidly corrects his stance and follow-through until every throw hits a bull’s-eye 21.
- Creates precisely timed midair collisions and ricochets during the Asuma examination 29.
- Controls the barrage closely enough to skim a moving opponent’s clothes without injuring him 30.
- Teaches Sasuke to stabilize his shoulder and compensate with wrist movement rather than copy an adult’s technique; Sasuke immediately hits every target 22.
- His instruction is not consistently responsible: during the earlier Fire Release lesson, he forgets to tell Sasuke to protect his mouth with chakra 4.
Tactical Analysis and Psychological Warfare
Satoru uses observation, misdirection, and opponents’ assumptions alongside his combat abilities.
- Detects Orochimaru’s concealed snake clone and destroys it while hiding the threat from Sasuke 21.
- Exploits Asuma’s exact examination rule instead of relying solely on combat superiority 29.
- Bluffs Obito into retreating by presenting depleted power as an overwhelming threat 33.
- Uses knowledge of Orochimaru’s precarious position before defection to discourage a public confrontation 38.
- Predicts an enemy’s approaching Lightning Release: Lariat aloud, giving Captain Naoya an extra second to evade 50.
Physical Resilience
- Trusts his body’s resilience and healing speed to survive the shuriken lodged in his forehead, although he bleeds and alarms Sasuke 19.
- His endurance is not unlimited: after forcing Obito to retreat, he collapses from exhaustion 33.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Shuriken — Used for target practice, detecting Orochimaru’s snake clone, and the controlled barrage against Asuma 21 29.
- Large-Scale Spatial Teleportation Array scroll — Purchased from the System Shop; Satoru considers it useful and quicker than his alternative methods 30.
- Mass Forgery Technique scroll — Another System Shop purchase valued for convenience 30.
- Pastry-shop discount card — Grants half-price purchases for thirty days; received from Teuchi after the ramen contest 15.
- Daily free-ramen voucher — Collects the prize on Shisui’s behalf but neglects to tell him, prompting a later complaint 15 36.
- Embarrassing photograph of Sasuke — Uses it as leverage to keep Sasuke quiet during Mikoto’s birthday celebration 36.
Relationships
- Uchiha Fugaku — Father and clan head. Their clashes over discipline develop into political discussions; Fugaku comes to regard Satoru as a possible hope for the clan, despite remaining wary of village influence 1 6 7 16.
- Uchiha Mikoto — Mother. Defends his legitimacy at birth, participates in disciplining him by locking away his dango, and welcomes the family at her birthday celebration 1 8 36.
- Uchiha Itachi — Older brother and frequent disciplinarian. Their teasing conceals affection; Satoru later rescues him without revealing his identity, leaving Itachi with an unexplained sense of familiarity 1 8 32 34 36.
- Uchiha Sasuke — Younger brother, student, and recurring target of pranks. Sasuke alternates between admiration, rivalry, anger, and genuine concern for Satoru’s safety 4 5 19 22.
- Naruto Uzumaki — Befriends Satoru after receiving his help and calls him “big brother.” Naruto trusts him enthusiastically, while their closeness attracts official surveillance and Sasuke’s jealousy 7 8 15 16.
- Kakashi Hatake — Initially assigned to watch him, later becomes his Genin supervisor and ANBU partner. Kakashi relies on his instincts but is repeatedly exasperated by his evasions, absences, and eccentric attire 7 38 39 41 42.
- Uchiha Shisui — Familiar with Satoru’s reputation and amused by his exchanges with Itachi. Their friendly teasing also includes Shisui’s grievance over the withheld ramen voucher 9 36.
- Hiruzen Sarutobi — A leader Satoru deliberately tests as a potential protector of the Uchiha. Hiruzen first encourages his Academy enrollment, then approves his early departure to curb his influence 16 23 24.
- Orochimaru — Becomes fascinated by Satoru’s learning ability, perception, and unexplained powers. Satoru repeatedly refuses recruitment and rejects Orochimaru’s portrayal of him as secretly resentful 21 25 30 38 39.
- Shimura Danzō — Hostile village authority who orders Root to seize Satoru’s eyes. Satoru challenges the lack of justification for targeting him during A’s attack 41 44.
- A / Yamato — Root operative encountered during the laboratory investigation. Satoru’s questioning exposes the inconsistency behind Danzō’s assassination orders; A later receives the name Yamato and acceptance from Hiruzen 42 44 47.
- Naoya Kuchiki — Strict ANBU captain who distrusts Satoru’s youth and casual conduct. Satoru’s battlefield prediction nevertheless helps him avoid an enemy attack 47 50.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Ramen Contest and Contact with the Hokage
- Turns a group encounter involving his brothers, Naruto, Shisui, and Kakashi into a ramen outing 9 10.
- Helps Teuchi organize the contest and recruits Hiruzen, Fugaku, and Torifu Akimichi as judges 11 12.
- Hosts the event while earning repeated roleplay rewards 12 13.
- Later reveals that the contest was a pretext to approach and assess Hiruzen, with the group providing cover for his purpose 24.
Academy Influence and Early Graduation
- Before enrolling, examines the Uchiha stone tablet and rewrites part of its manipulated inscription with a mischievous message about Uchiha love 17.
- Wins over teachers and classmates while privately planning to escape three years of schooling 18.
- Within a month, becomes influential enough that students begin questioning war, unfair rules, and noble privilege. Hiruzen approves his examination request to remove that influence from the Academy 23.
- Faces Asuma’s test: touch the examiner’s clothing before a stick of incense burns out. After demonstrating movement, Earth Release, and shuriken control, Satoru obtains a fabric scrap by stripping Asuma’s clothes with Wind Release 26 27 28 29.
- Asuma leaves without announcing his result, but Satoru is later confirmed as a Genin assigned to Kakashi 30 38.
Itachi’s Rescue and the Obito Bluff
- Intervenes under the Satoru-ko identity after Itachi loses a comrade and faces an overwhelming opponent 32.
- Uses Red to break through Obito’s flames, then maintains an intimidating performance despite having almost no power left for a second attack 33.
- Forces Obito to retreat rather than defeating him in a prolonged fight. Afterward, Satoru collapses and resolves to accelerate his template development 33 34.
- Leaves without identifying himself to Itachi, preserving the mystery of his rescuer 34.
Shinobi Work and ANBU Service
- Repeatedly skips work under Kakashi, who punishes him with an assignment intended for a three-person team. Satoru decides to pursue Jonin promotion so he can delegate routine work 39.
- After a three-year time skip, investigates an abandoned Orochimaru facility with Kakashi while Danzō secretly targets both of their eyes 41 42.
- During A’s attack, drops his joking manner to question whether Danzō supplied any reason for ordering his death 44.
- Later serves under Naoya Kuchiki, whose frustration with his lateness and dango-eating contrasts with Satoru’s useful battlefield analysis 47 50.
