Xu Yang concealed his growing strength while striking at the Han and Fu Families, then killed Huo Xiaochен and broke through the combat-power barrier during a fight with Fu Zhenxing. The arc leaves him facing Han Hu in the Life-and-Death Arena, having revealed another hidden technique.

• Xu Yang killed Kong Ning after the attack on node four, then returned to the academy and secretly cultivated while the Han Family plotted against him.
• Xu Yang raided the Han Family’s Treasure-Gathering Studio, killed several Han experts, and returned to the academy stronger after raising his bone root and comprehension.
• Xu Yang broke through to eighth heavenly origin, then entered the Demon Abyss with Xu Qing, where he took spirit herbs and learned about the combat-power barrier.
• Xu Yang challenged Huo Xiaochен in the Life-and-Death Arena, defeated his techniques, and killed him despite Han Qianlin’s demands to stop.

Xu Yang strengthened himself, eliminated Han Qianlin and much of the Han Family, then traveled to Kyoto for the Profound Sect selection. As the selection approached, Lu Wei and Jiang Xun gathered allies to kill him, but Xu Yang chose to face them.

• Xu Yang killed Du Yuan in the Life-and-Death Arena, then secretly raided the Han Family, killing Han Xi, Han Qianzhong, Han Qianjun, and other experts before ambushing Han Qianlin.
• Xu Yang defeated Han Qianlin with his saber techniques, spiritual force, and Dragonspine Thunderclap Bow, then killed Han Yun and hid while recovering from his wounds.
• Xu Yang returned to the academy after a month, concealed his involvement in Han Qianlin’s death, and received a Dragon Ascension Token from Wang Shuheng.
• Xu Yang boarded the Dragon Ship for the Profound Sect selection, defeated Hu Yu’s surprise attack, and traveled with the candidates to Kyoto.
• Xu Yang delivered Elder Mu’s letter to the Mu Family and learned that Mu Feng and Mu Zijin had been asked to ally with him.
