Corpse stench.
Corpse stench concentrated to the utmost extreme.
Liu Shu Han stepped out of the blue-black iron tower, her brows slightly knitted. The Black Snow Mystic Mark on her forehead grew scorching hot, stirring all manner of responses from the divine abilities within her.
The sudden onslaught of corpse stench was fierce. No matter what spells or divine abilities she used to block it, she could not stop herself from smelling it.
The smell of rot.
This was... connected to rot. Which Dao Lineage had undergone a change? Nurturing Earth? Subduing Earth?
Liu Shu Han had always been quick-witted and skilled at deduction. Though she had never read of this in the Daoist Canon, she understood that the corpse stench filling heaven and earth must be connected to a particular Dao.
There was a suggestion of rot within that stench that struck fear into the heart. Liu Shu Han could not help recalling the first time she had seen a corpse.
Great and small demons arose within her consciousness, devoured those fears completely, then quietly withdrew.
"It isn't Nurturing Earth... it's Subduing Earth!"
Decisiveness sharpened her hauntingly beautiful face. She immediately gave orders to temporarily isolate everything belonging to that Dao and forbid anyone from approaching it.
The Dao of Subduing Earth was gentle and steady, bearing all things. It worked wonders both in repairing Dharma Bodies and nourishing divine souls, and the lineage had stored a considerable quantity. Now, at her command, all of it was separated out and sent out to sea.
Sure enough... those once-precious treasures, pills, and Dharma Artifacts all emitted that sinister corpse stench if they contained anything of the Dao of Subduing Earth. They could even cause the flesh of anyone who touched them to rot.
