Great Sage Wilderness.
Thunderbolt raged, and Violet Marsh churned.
Thunderclap Pure Land had bodhis aplenty and Diamonds as numerous as clouds, but Lion's Roar had brought most of his reserves this time. Losing two second-tier bodhis in a single battle truly made his heart ache.
Even if Buddhist cultivators could be promoted readily, they were not chives growing in a field!
Fire-House Pure Land had lost not only its newly promoted bodhi, [Ling'e], but also its Second Seat, [Three-Karma Mind], and his clone, [Calamity Flame]. Only the bodhi [Blazing Ghost] and seven monster Diamonds remained!
Lion's Roar was still thoroughly disgruntled. He had specifically ordered someone to dig up Three-Karma Mind's family genealogy from before his conversion to Buddhism, and every so often he unleashed a torrent of curses at it, displaying the utmost "refinement." The Second Seat lay sprawled on the Treasure Platform in the Pure Land, golden lotuses spontaneously condensing around him and making his hill-sized belly look gilded.
"Second Seat."
Someone waded over through the Thunder Marsh below. It was a bodhi wearing red-lotus monk's robes, with no flesh on his face, only bare bones. Seven fire hounds with black-and-red fur followed behind him, their tails forked, discharging fire wherever they stood.
"Fire-House Pure Land was damaged and has returned to the Amitabha Aspect to repair itself. I still hold the two Great Vow Grounds of [False Phosphor] and [Burning Plain], but they have lost their anchorage."
"Would you perhaps allow this humble monk to lead these seven [Calamity Gods] back first to repair Fire-House Pure Land?"
The skeletal Blazing Ghost Bodhi trembled as he bowed his head in obeisance.
Lion's Roar slowly hauled himself upright, making the white-jade Treasure Platform shake three times and sending the entire Thunder Marsh roiling along with it.
"Repair your mother!"
