[Name: Nagato] [Identity: Child of Destiny (false)] [Obsession: Low] [Source of obsession: Uzumaki Clan] [Obsession cannot be absorbed]
[Name: Kakashi] [Identity: Protagonist's Mentor, Guide] [Obsession: Moderate] [Source of obsession: White Fang of Konoha] [Obsession cannot be absorbed]
At that moment, every one of these kids was just like Nagato and Kakashi.
None of their obsessions were particularly strong.
The obsession the system could truly absorb and analyze would emerge the instant Yahiko died and Nagato unleashed his power.
Or the instant Obito died-or pretended to die-and Kakashi ended Rin's life with his own hands.
Obsession was also a form of fixation, an extreme emotion born from overwhelming joy or grief. More often than not, it was negative.
It was nothing like their current feelings.
They were all safe and sound, peaceful and happy.
What lay in their hearts now could not be called obsession, only conviction.
These people should have been excellent sources of obsession.
Yet now, none of theirs could be absorbed.
It was even uncertain whether things would later develop as they had in the original story and give rise to those obsessions.
Su Ye could only sigh. Once again, he had missed his chance to awaken the system.
Feeling rather dispirited, Su Ye was about to leave with Hoshizuki Hyuga.
"You saved me..."
Kakashi stared at Su Ye for a long while before suddenly speaking.
"Me?"
Su Ye pointed at himself and asked uncertainly.
"Yes."
Kakashi nodded firmly.
"You must have mistaken me for someone else. I'm just an ordinary person without any chakra."
Su Ye denied it outright.
He studied the unmasked Kakashi with interest. As a child, he really was handsome and cute, a picture-perfect pretty little boy.
"I'm not mistaken. You saved me."
Kakashi repeated himself, his voice firm.
