After Sasuke gathered his subordinates, he began asking around for news of Itachi. He heard that someone nearby belonged to the same organization as Itachi and felt certain he could learn Itachi's whereabouts from him. As luck would have it, the man really was a member of the Akatsuki-but he was Deidara, who had a grudge against Itachi.
The unlucky Deidara never would have imagined that Itachi's younger brother would set his sights on him.
Deidara had just been sent out to gather intelligence when he ran into Sasuke and his companions.
"You're in the same organization as that guy Itachi, right? Tell me, where is he?"
Sasuke walked straight up and asked.
The question left Deidara completely baffled. Who is this guy? Do I know him?
"Huh? Where's Uchiha Itachi? I don't know."
Hearing Deidara say he didn't know made Sasuke rather irritated. He had asked perfectly politely, yet this man claimed not to know. Apparently, the members of Itachi's organization were pretty good at keeping secrets. Then I'll beat you until you talk.
"Fine, so you won't talk? Then I'll beat you until you do. Everyone, stand back. This fight is between me, Sasuke Uchiha, and this man. None of you are allowed to interfere."
Only then did Deidara realize that the man before him was also an Uchiha and was looking for Itachi. He had to be Itachi's younger brother. Since I can't beat Itachi, I'll beat up his little brother and make him suffer.
"Fine by me. What a small world for enemies."
The two were practically seeing red at the sight of each other.
Without another word, they launched straight into battle.
"Clay Centipede, clay spiders! Blow him to pieces!"
Deidara molded a heap of clay creations and hurled them all at Sasuke, trying to
