Watching Uchiha Sasuke become a thunder god, wielding the power of lightning, Naruto was green with envy.
He gazed wistfully at the ball he had spun up in his hand, then compared it with Uchiha Sasuke's. Sigh. There was simply no comparison.
As the lightning in Sasuke's hand grew increasingly concentrated, his scarlet eyes fixed on the Pains.

"Waku waku!" Hearing Uchiha Sasuke's melodramatic declaration, Naruto thought Sasuke looked unbelievably cool. So over the top, yet so awesome.
It was almost too much. Naruto practically had stars in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Sasuke had drawn down the lightning in his hand, shaping it into a Kirin.
It charged straight at Pain, enormous pillars of lightning striking the Pains. How could mere flesh and blood withstand such rolling heavenly thunder?
As Pain watched the lightning descend before him, he could only stare helplessly.
"Damn it! How can a Ninjutsu like this exist?"
Deva Path unleashed Shinra Tensei to block it, but he was still hurled away, let alone the other Pains.
They were swallowed up by lightning outright, for this was not Sasuke's first time using this Ninjutsu.
He had already used Lightning Release: Kirin once during his Pacific War against Itachi. As the saying went, the first time was unfamiliar, the second came easily.
This time, Sasuke handled the Ninjutsu far more smoothly, and its power was considerably greater than before.
Once the dust cleared, Deva Path felt rather frustrated by the beating he had taken. He was in tatters, while the other Pains had been blasted into wrecks, completely unable to fight.
