When Naruto opened his eyes, he saw the Nine-Tails lying there asleep.
Then he seemed to remember that he had just been fighting-and apparently, Nagato had taken him down in a single move.
He remembered his big brother Meihui telling him that if he couldn't win, he should go into the Sealing Space and ask the Nine-Tails for chakra.
Note that Meihui had said to ask, but Naruto had misunderstood.
Seeing the sleeping Nine-Tails, Naruto ran straight up to his mouth without a second thought and started yanking on his whiskers.
The pain jolted the Nine-Tails awake. When he saw that it was Naruto, he rubbed his eyes, rolled over, and prepared to go back to sleep.
Naruto wasn't having that. He had just gotten beaten up, and this guy could still sleep?
"Hey, Nine-Tails, wake up."
Naruto went over to the Nine-Tails' ear again and chattered away until the racket forced him to get up.
"What? What do you want? What are you trying to do? Can't a fox get some sleep?"
"Nine-Tails, someone just beat me up."
"Oh. Aaaah..."
The Nine-Tails let out an unconcerned yawn.
"Hmph, keep this up and I'll tell my brother to come loosen your bones for you."
"Tch, you're a rude little brat, aren't you? Remember, I have a name. Kurama. Watch how you speak to me from now on."
"Which fool had the nerve to pick on you? Tell me."
"There."
Naruto pointed with his lips. The Nine-Tails looked outside and saw Nagato drive one of the Black Rods straight through Naruto's abdomen.
"Hiss... why do this man's eyes look so much like the old man's Rinnegan?"
The Nine-Tails had no time to dwell on it. He immediately gave Naruto a chakra recharge, bringing him from the brink of death right back
