Background / History

Meihui remembers a previous life in which a falling brick killed him at work. He awakens as Minato and Kushina’s newborn son during the Nine-Tails’ attack, initially in Obito’s hands with explosive tags attached. Minato rescues him, and both parents die protecting their twins and sealing chakra into them. Kushina asks Meihui, the older brother, to protect Naruto; he promises to do so and eventually bring their parents back 1.

Hiruzen places the twins under Rei Sarutobi’s care, intending their upbringing to emphasize the Will of Fire. Meihui distrusts Hiruzen’s motives but recognizes Rei’s genuine kindness.
