Orochimaru looked at the three before him and burst out laughing.

"Interesting, interesting, this is just too interesting." Orochimaru's near-maniacal laughter piled even more pressure on Meihui and the others.

Even ninjutsu of that caliber had failed to do him any real damage. Sweat trickled down Meihui's forehead.

Sasuke and Naruto were baffled too. Was the gap between their strength and this man's really that vast?

Orochimaru peeled off his human-skin mask, revealing his true face.

His slit pupils stared coldly at the three of them, radiating an oppressive presence.

Just as I thought, we can't beat him. Meihui's hands never stopped moving as the thought crossed his mind. He formed a Rasengan and hurled a kunai bearing a Flying Thunder God mark.

Seeing Meihui charge, Orochimaru gave a cold chuckle.

"A Rasengan? That hardly gives you the right to throw yourself against a brick wall." Orochimaru tilted his head slightly, dodging Meihui's kunai. Before he could do anything else, Meihui used Flying Thunder God to appear right in front of him. The Rasengan slammed straight into his face, distorting it and sending him flying far into the distance.

"Bleurgh!" Orochimaru vomited himself out of his previous body's mouth, emerging in a "new" body covered in slime.

Watching this, Meihui couldn't help feeling sick. He had to admit that Orochimaru's snake substitution was ridiculously powerful, but wasn't this a little too disgusting?

I spit out a snake, and the snake spits out me?

Hey, kiddo, got a whole lot of question marks floating over your head?

Even Meihui, who had seen Orochimaru before, found this revolting. Naruto and Sasuke, who had never witnessed anything like it, were completely dumbstruck.

They looked as though they had never seen the world, while Orochimaru was rather surprised himself.

"To think you've mastered Flying Thunder God." Orochimaru stared at Meihui with a half-smile, extending his inhumanly long tongue to lick the corner of his mouth. The sight made Meihui's skin crawl.

Orochimaru hasn't taken a fancy to me, has he? No way, right? Wouldn't Uchiha Sasuke over there be a better pick?

If Sasuke knew what Meihui was thinking right now, **********

He would have greeted Meihui with a tirade centered on his parents, extending through his relatives and circling all eighteen generations of his ancestors-a battle of insults where the winner's parents remained alive and the loser's entire family tree ascended to heaven.

Having witnessed Meihui's strength, Orochimaru decided not to hold back any longer. Taking advantage of Meihui's lapse in concentration, he immediately unleashed Hidden Shadow Snake Hands.

"You dare let your mind wander while fighting me? You're awfully bold for a youngster."

Several fanged pythons shot from Orochimaru's sleeve, striking at Meihui with blinding speed.

But Meihui was no pushover either, and he dodged Orochimaru's attack.

"Orochimaru, aren't you giving me a little too much credit? How about going easy on me?"

Seeing Orochimaru get serious, Meihui knew things were looking bad. He hurriedly tried talking his way out of it, hoping to divert Orochimaru's attention.

But the moment those words left his mouth, he regretted them.

"Hmm? You know me?"

Meihui's heart sank at Orochimaru's question, but he hastily offered an explanation.

"The Cold Lord, Orochimaru, one of the Konoha Sannin. You were the Third Hokage's student, along with Jiraiya and Tsunade. Doesn't every ninja know that?" Meihui waved a hand as though this were common knowledge.

Beside him, however, Naruto and Sasuke stared blankly, their eyes unfocused and their faces practically announcing, I didn't know.

One look told Meihui he was in trouble. These two idiot teammates.

Across from them, Orochimaru watched the scene with interest.
