Everyone swallowed hard. The atmosphere was terrifyingly oppressive, with not a glimmer of hope.
"W-what are you going to do?" Krillin asked.
Jass ran his tongue over his lips. "Let me ask you something. If your answer satisfies me, I might spare your lives."
"Go ahead. What is it?"
Jass said, "That Saiyan brat said someone could defeat me."
"I want to know if you know any other Saiyans. Where exactly is this person he mentioned? Is he a Saiyan too?"
"Of course, I know nobody could possibly defeat me, but it still pisses me off."
"Go on, then. Let's see if your answer satisfies me."
Yamcha swallowed and said, "Yes, there are several other Saiyans. The person Trunks mentioned is his teacher, Son Gohan. He's also an incredibly powerful Saiyan."
"I think the other Saiyans are probably on their way back to Earth already. Since you seem to hate Saiyans so much, why not wait quietly here for a while? They should arrive before long."
"And do you think that person can defeat me?" Jass asked, giving him a sidelong look.
"Of course not." Krillin shook his head with a nervous laugh, but inwardly, he was already cursing him. You'd better not run. Once Goku and the others get back, you're dead.
"Oh? From the look on your face, you're cursing me in your head, aren't you?" Jass sneered.
"Ah, n-no! I wouldn't dare." Krillin stepped back, waving his hands as beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.
"Hmph. You'd better not be."
"Then I'll let you live a little longer. I'll wait right here for them to return." Jass sat down cross-legged, showing utter disregard for everyone around him.
Everyone fell silent, not daring to utter a word of protest.
If this murderous monster would just sit quietly
