Even after more than a thousand years, King Kai still remembered it vividly. Just mentioning Bojack's name left him shaken.
That showed just how deeply Bojack had traumatized King Kai back then.
Son Gohan asked, "King Kai, is there anything else you need to tell me?"
King Kai replied, "N-no, that's all."
Son Gohan asked another question. "King Kai, who exactly killed South Kai?"
King Kai said, "I'm not sure. We still haven't found out."
What a mess. They still didn't know who had done it?
What the hell were those Kais even doing?
Son Gohan said, "All right. Is my father there right now? I'd like to talk to him and the others."
"They aren't here either." King Kai shook his head.
"They aren't? Where did they go this time?"
Son Gohan was curious. The last time he had contacted King Kai, Son Goku and the others had gone to Grand Kai's Planet for a martial arts tournament.
Where had they gone this time?
Why were they never on King Kai's Planet?
They always seemed so busy.
King Kai said, "A revolt broke out in Other World. Goku and the others went there to help."
Son Gohan froze.
A revolt in Other World? What the hell?
He asked, "What's going on? A revolt broke out in Other World?"
King Kai answered, "Here's what happened. Frieza and Vegeta originally each ruled half of the eighteen levels of Hell. They stayed out of each other's way for years, and things were fairly peaceful. There hadn't been any large-scale fighting for a long time."
"But after Android 17 and Android 18 were sent down to the eighteen levels of Hell, that delicate balance broke down. None of the three factions would submit to the others, and they've been fighting nonstop."
"Now all of Other World is in chaos. Half a month ago, King Yemma asked for help. Goku and the others went over then, and they still haven't come back."
Son Gohan felt a headache coming on.
Those people never ran out of energy. They had fought nonstop while alive, and they kept fighting even as ghosts.
Their battles never ended. He couldn't help admiring their dedication.
Only now did Son Gohan learn that Vegeta had been sent down to the eighteen levels of Hell after his death back then, rather than living with Son Goku and the others.
But on reflection, that made sense.
The Vegeta of this timeline had slaughtered countless people and had yet to make any real contribution to Earth. King Yemma sending him to Hell was only natural.
Go ahead and fight to your hearts' content.
Son Gohan ended his conversation with King Kai and flew to Kami's Lookout.
At Kami's Lookout,
Dende was casting spell after spell on Trunks, bathing his face in a red glow.
Son Gohan stared in astonishment.
So Dende's solution was to spam spells on Trunks?
He couldn't tell whether they were recovery spells or healing spells.
Good grief!
Trunks looked positively radiant under the barrage, as though he had just enjoyed a full-service massage.
Seeing Son Gohan arrive, Dende stopped casting.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead and greeted him with a smile. "Gohan."
Trunks looked just as energized. "Gohan, what brings you here? I feel like my whole body is brimming with strength."
Son Gohan laughed. "Hahaha, maybe you've had a little too much of a boost! How's it going? Any sign of your tail?"
Trunks said, "My butt's a little itchy."
"Then it must be doing something." Son Gohan smiled.
At that moment, Mr. Popo, who had been standing at the edge of the Lookout's plaza, walked over.
Mr. Popo immediately asked, "Mr. Gohan, what exactly happened on Earth?"
From Kami's Lookout, Mr. Popo had seen aliens wreaking havoc in East City, but he didn't know the details.
Son Gohan frowned and gave them a serious explanation about Bojack.
Mr. Popo, Dende, and Trunks all looked grim after hearing him out.
Dende asked, "Gohan, what are you going to do?"
Son Gohan sneered. "Whatever they throw at us, we'll deal with it. I'll make sure they never leave alive. As soon as they get close to Earth, I'm going to give them a few presents."
Trunks sounded excited. "Gohan, you've got a good idea, haven't you?"
Son Gohan chuckled. "When their ship gets close to Earth, I'm going to take the initiative and treat them to a few ki blasts. Ideally, I'll destroy their ship and kill everyone aboard. Why should we wait until they've landed safely to start fighting? Hehe."
"Gohan, you're downright devious." Trunks grinned.
"No, that's called tactics." Son Gohan smiled.
"Hahaha."
"If we destroy their ship, even if they survive, they won't be in good shape. Then the two of us can rush them and catch them off guard."
Trunks said, "Right. We'll show them Earth isn't so easy to push around."
Mr. Popo and Dende also thought Son Gohan was showing absolutely no martial spirit, but they wholeheartedly approved of his approach.
When someone was invading your planet, who gave a damn about martial spirit?
The next day,
A massive spaceship slowly approached Earth.
Aboard the ship, four men and one woman stood around a huge screen, deep in a heated discussion.
All five looked excited as they talked about the Dragon Balls.
They were the galactic marauder Bojack and his four trusted lieutenants.
Bojack, Zangya, Gokua, Bujin, and Bido.
All five came from an inhabited world called Hera Planet.
Orange hair and aqua-blue skin were their distinguishing features.
Of the five, Bojack and Bido were the largest.
Both stood over two and a half meters tall, their bodies bulging with muscle. They certainly weighed more than 150 kilograms.
Gokua was a little smaller than those two, but he still stood two meters tall. He wore a purple headscarf and carried a greatsword on his back. He was an expert swordsman, as well as the most handsome of the four men.
Bojack's most trusted confidante was Zangya, the only woman in the group.
Zangya had a slender, graceful figure with astonishing curves at her chest and seemingly bottomless exposed cleavage. Her long, wavy orange hair was dazzling, and her beautiful eyes were captivating. At 170 centimeters tall, her height was just right, while her aqua-blue skin lent her an exotic beauty.
Although she was tall herself, standing beside the other three large men made her look petite and delicate, almost like a little girl.
The shortest member of the group was Bujin.
Though Bujin was a man, he was small, barely over a meter and a half tall. His physique was frail, but he possessed astonishing magic.
Every one of these five was a formidable powerhouse. Even Frieza in his heyday wouldn't have lasted a single move against any of them.
How could fighters who had terrorized the four galaxies a thousand years ago possibly have undeserved reputations?
Gokua looked toward Bojack, who sat in the seat of honor. "My lord, have you decided what wish you'll make once we gather all seven Dragon Balls?"
Bojack burst out laughing and looked at his four subordinates. "Hahaha, of course I have."
Bujin asked, "What will you wish for, my lord?"
Bojack picked up the glass of red wine from the table, tipped his head back, drained it, and said:
"The five of us may have long lifespans, but those four old bastards kept us sealed away for over a thousand years. Since we were released, I've felt that my body is nowhere near what it used to be."
"How can we accept that? We can't. We still haven't fulfilled our dream. Destroying the four galaxies is a long and arduous task, and it'll take a great deal of time. So I'm going to ask Shenron to give all five of us eternal, undying life."
"Once we have lives that can never end, these four galaxies-no, this entire universe-will one day be destroyed by our hands. Hahaha!"
"Your wisdom is unmatched, my lord! Your might is invincible!" Bujin promptly piled on the flattery.
Bojack glanced at him with a crooked smile, then turned to Zangya and ordered, "Zangya, contact the advance force on Earth. Ask how their search for the Dragon Balls is going."
Zangya's pleasant voice rang out. "Yes, my lord."
Then Zangya began sending signals to the advance force on Earth.
But the result was predictable. There was no response.
A minute or two later,
Bojack's expression darkened.
The others exchanged looks.
Two seconds later, Bojack said gravely, "There are only two possibilities now. Either those useless fools betrayed us and made their own wish after gathering the Dragon Balls, or they encountered a powerful enemy on Earth and were wiped out."
"Whichever it is, I'm very unhappy."
Zangya brushed back her wavy orange hair and asked, "My lord, what do we do now?"
Bojack said coldly, "Increase our speed. Head for Earth at full speed."
"Yes, my lord," Zangya answered, then rose and headed to the ship's control room.
With a series of adjustments, she brought the ship to an incredible speed.
It hurtled toward Earth like a thing possessed.
Bojack said, "Hmph. Let's see who's ruining my plans. Whoever it is clearly has a death wish."
Bido, who had remained silent until now, rubbed his hands together and said viciously:
"You're right, my lord. Whoever they are, we'll make them pay. We'll torture them good and kill them."
"Hehehe."
As he spoke, a bloodthirsty grin spread across his face.
After increasing the ship's speed, Zangya returned to her original spot.
Bojack added, "By the way, Zangya, how is that matter I asked you to investigate? Who exactly broke our seal?"
"My lord, all we know so far is that the one who died was South Kai of the South Galaxy. We still haven't found out who killed him," Zangya replied.
Bojack said, "Good. Keep investigating. He's our great benefactor, after all. I'm going to make him my subordinate."
