"Majin Buu..."

The Supreme Kai's gaze grew distant as he recalled his painful past.

"It happened a very, very long time ago, when the humans on your Earth were only just learning to walk upright.

Back then, deep in the universe, there was an evil wizard named Bibidi. One day, the evil wizard Bibidi happened to create a terrifying life-form, the being later known as Majin Buu..."

"Majin Buu had no feelings whatsoever. He knew only slaughter and destruction. He was a monster whose sole purpose in life was to spread terror.

Over the thousands of years that followed, thousands upon thousands of planets became dead worlds..."

Son Gohan already knew all this, so he simply treated it as listening to the story again.

There wasn't much else to say: a Plus version of Android 17 and Android 18.

He also knew that Majin Buu hadn't actually been created by Bibidi at all. He was a terrifying creature that had survived since ancient times.

Bibidi had merely happened to possess a way to control him.

The Supreme Kai simply believed he was a monster Bibidi had created.

The Supreme Kai continued, "At the time, besides me, there were the West Supreme Kai, the North Supreme Kai, the South Supreme Kai, and the Grand Supreme Kai, who led us all.

I was the youngest then, and I followed them around in everything we did.

All four possessed astonishing power, especially the Grand Supreme Kai. He could kill someone as powerful as Frieza with a single finger."

"But later, Majin Buu invaded the Sacred World of the Kai. All four of my seniors were killed by him. Only I, the youngest, escaped by sheer luck because I didn't dare fight."

Pain crossed the Supreme Kai's face, as though he hated himself for his cowardice and helplessness back then.

He took a deep breath to calm himself, then continued:

"Majin Buu was simply too terrifying. Later, even Bibidi, who had created him, grew afraid of him. So, when Majin Buu had to rest, Bibidi temporarily sealed him away, preventing him from moving."

"Several more years passed like that. The ambitious Bibidi wanted to invade Earth, so he took the sealed Majin Buu there."

"While Bibidi was undoing Majin Buu's seal, I seized the chance to ambush and kill that evil wizard."

"At the time, I was worried that too much disturbance would awaken Majin Buu, so I didn't dare destroy him.

Believing that only the wizard Bibidi could undo Majin Buu's seal, I hid him somewhere very secluded on Earth. Several million years have passed since then..."

With the story finally finished, Son Gohan felt that the Supreme Kai was on the verge of collapsing.

Exhaustion spread through the Supreme Kai's entire body.

It seemed Majin Buu really had become his worst nightmare. Just thinking about him was enough to keep him awake at night.

Son Gohan gathered his thoughts and said, "Lord Supreme Kai, have you ever considered finding another hiding place for Majin Buu? Earth today is no longer the Earth of several million years ago, after all."

"Earth's human population is much larger now, and people are no longer as slow-witted as they once were. Hiding Majin Buu there isn't safe anymore..."

The Supreme Kai looked at him. "Your concerns aren't unfounded, Mr. Gohan, but where could we put him? I'm truly worried that disturbing him might undo the seal and wake him up."

Son Gohan smiled. "You don't need to be so afraid. Even if Majin Buu were unsealed right now, I could handle him. I'm just worried that if he's left on Earth without anyone guarding him, someone with ulterior motives might steal him at any moment."

"If that really happened, Lord Supreme Kai, you would bear a responsibility you couldn't shirk."

"And I can't stay on Earth watching him every moment of every day, can I?"

"Uh..." The Supreme Kai frowned and thought for a while before asking, "Then do you have any ideas, Mr. Gohan?"

Son Gohan smiled. "As a matter of fact, I do. I'd like to move Majin Buu to the Sacred World of the Kai. What do you think?"

"What?" The Supreme Kai and Kibito's expressions changed drastically. "Absolutely not!"

Son Gohan raised a hand to cut them off and said:

"Hear me out first. Majin Buu's Sealed Egg really isn't safe on Earth. Leaving aside all the unpredictable factors, Lord Supreme Kai, have you never considered that Bibidi might have descendants?"

"If one of his descendants sneaks onto Earth and steals Majin Buu, you'll have a real headache on your hands."

"Wouldn't you agree? Here's what I'm thinking: isn't there already a sealing magic circle here in the sacred land? That's right, the place where Old Kai was sealed before. If we put Majin Buu there, you can check on him whenever you want. That way, nothing can go wrong."

The Supreme Kai: ...

Kibito: ...

Son Gohan wasn't wrong.

But who could sleep soundly with a land mine buried beneath their bed?

Let alone a Majin Buu?

The Supreme Kai immediately found himself torn.

The main reason was that Majin Buu had once invaded the Sacred World of the Kai and killed four Supreme Kais here, leaving Shin with an agonizing memory.

While the Supreme Kai was still hesitating,

Old Kai, who had remained silent at the side all this time, spoke up. "All right. Let's do as Gohan says."

"..."

Since Old Kai had spoken, neither the Supreme Kai nor Kibito dared voice any further objections.

They could only agree.

"Yes, Ancestor," the Supreme Kai said weakly.

Seeing this, Son Gohan thumped his chest and promised, "Lord Supreme Kai, don't worry too much. I promise you right here: if Majin Buu ever shows any signs of trouble, contact me anytime. I'll come back immediately and deal with him."

"Yes, that puts my mind at ease," the Supreme Kai said with a sigh of relief.

"Then let's not waste any time. Shall we head out now?" Son Gohan asked.

"All right. Kibito, sorry for the trouble, but we'll need you to take us there again," the Supreme Kai said, looking at Kibito.

"There's no need to say that, Lord Supreme Kai. It's my duty," Kibito replied.

As he spoke, he placed his hands on Son Gohan's and the Supreme Kai's shoulders.

Whoosh!

Son Gohan felt his vision blur, and the entire world around him changed.

The three of them had arrived on Earth.

That was fucking amazing.

Son Gohan's eyes burned with eagerness. He wanted to learn Kibito's Instant Transmission even sooner now.

They stood on an ice field, where the wind cut to the bone and the sky met the earth in an endless expanse of white.

"Is this the ice field deep in Yunzabit Heights?" Son Gohan asked, recognizing the location after looking around for a moment.

"Indeed." The Supreme Kai nodded.

"Then where's Majin Buu's Sealing Ball?" Son Gohan asked in confusion.

The Supreme Kai pointed beneath their feet. "Right under us."

Son Gohan crouched, brushed away the ice shavings on the ground, and narrowed his eyes to look down. Sure enough, beneath more than ten meters of solid ice, he saw something shaped like a walnut.

That had to be Majin Buu's Sealing Ball.

Son Gohan smiled. "This poor guy. He's been lying here all these years, freezing and starving."

"This used to be a desert. After several shifts in the earth's crust, it became what you see now," the Supreme Kai explained from beside him.

"Okay, would you two mind stepping aside? I'll get him out right now." As Son Gohan spoke, a bright blue energy sphere had already formed in his hand, and he slammed it down onto the ice.

"Ah, don't..." The Supreme Kai and Kibito were horrified, but it was already too late to stop him.

They had never even dared imagine retrieving the Sealing Ball so violently.

BOOM!!!

The ice exploded, sending chunks flying in every direction. Their whistling made the Supreme Kai's and Kibito's hearts pound with fear.

At the same time, the enormous [walnut] flew into the air, then crashed heavily onto the ice. It rolled several times before coming to rest at the Supreme Kai's and Kibito's feet.

"Hiss..."

The Supreme Kai went completely rigid.

Damn it, wasn't this weather far too cold?
