"Yechen, there's something this old man would like to ask of you."
Elder Sang Tian wore a serious expression.
Yechen was puzzled. "Please go ahead, Elder."
"With your strength, you'll have no trouble even on the Kirigakure Battlefield. But I hope you'll lend Shisui a hand. After all, you're both members of the clan."
"What's wrong with Shisui?" Yechen asked with a smile.
"He's pretty strong himself, isn't he? Does he really need me looking after him?"
The last time they met, Shisui already had the Three-Tomoe Sharingan and had earned the title of Body Flicker Shisui. By now, even if he hadn't awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, he was surely stronger than before.
"Ah..." Elder Sang Tian sighed.
"Shisui is a talented boy, but he still isn't mature enough. I'm afraid someone with ulterior motives might exploit him, so I'm asking you to look after him."
Yechen gave him a peculiar look at that. Isn't that just a roundabout way of saying I'm ruthless?
Noticing Yechen's look, Elder Sang Tian immediately laughed it off. "Haha, old men do tend to ramble. Wait a moment. I'll get something for you."
Yechen was puzzled. When the elder returned, he was carrying a book and two scrolls.
"Here, take these." Elder Sang Tian handed them to Yechen.
"These are...?" Yechen asked in confusion.
"You're heading to the Kirigakure Battlefield this time. These three things should help," Elder Sang Tian explained.
"The clan prepared these for you. This book records a predecessor's insights into cultivating and developing water-attribute energy. The other two are Water Release Ninjutsu. Have a good look when you get back."
Yechen immediately opened the book and skimmed it. Its contents were rather interesting, though they wouldn't help him much. Still, he appreciated the gesture and accepted it.
