"Captain, what do we do now?"
Hyuuga Xingyao asked.
"Head back first and see what the commander has in mind."
With that, the three hurried toward the Temporary Camp.
With the enemy already closing in around them, Yechen could hardly gamble with his subordinates' lives. Rejoining the main force was the best choice.
Before he even reached the camp, Yechen heard fighting. Clearly, the enemy had already attacked, giving them no time at all to prepare.
After a few swift bursts of movement, Yechen arrived inside the camp. Flames flashed to the north, and explosions roared one after another. Clearly, that was where the fighting had first broken out.
Using his Sharingan's perceptive abilities, Yechen identified the attackers. Just as he had expected, they were not Root Ninja, but Kirigakure Ninja.
They were still within the Land of Fire, after all. Danzo would not brazenly attack an entire Konoha force, nor could he mobilize so many men at once for an assault. The only possibility was that he was using someone else to do his dirty work.
Suddenly, Yechen noticed that the Kirigakure ninja leading the attack looked familiar.
He had green hair, a black vest, and bandages wrapped around his upper body. In his hands were two oddly shaped long blades with edges jutting from their sides.
The sight reminded Yechen of someone: Raiga Kurosuki, one of the renowned Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
That meant the twin blades in his hands were Lightning Blade: Fang, one of the seven Ninja Blades.
Before coming here, Yechen had learned about Kirigakure's powerful fighters from Elder Sang Tian.
If he remembered correctly, Lightning Blade: Fang could generate lightning and increase attack speed. That was somewhat similar to his Lightning Release: Thrust, though he did not know which was stronger.
As
