After walking for several minutes and finally crossing a moderately sized pond, they reached the reception room.

The deputy captain of the Konoha Military Police Force glanced at Yechen, left a few instructions, then turned and departed.
Once he had left, the Uchiha clansman served Yechen a cup of tea and said that the clan leader still had some business to attend to, asking him to wait here for a while.
Yechen nodded, picked up the cup, and took a sip.
He had expected the man to appear after a few minutes at most. Yet twenty minutes passed, and he had already drunk two cups of tea without seeing any sign of Uchiha Fugaku.
Watching the Uchiha servant refill his cup yet again, Yechen asked,
"How much longer will the clan leader be?"
The man repeated his earlier response: the clan leader was busy, and Yechen would need to wait a little longer.
At that, Yechen's expression immediately turned cold. He had never needed the Uchiha's protection in the first place. What was the meaning of summoning him here, only to fail to show up?
