An hour later, Yechen was so bored he was almost asleep.
Only then did he hear a creak as someone pushed open the reception room door and stepped inside.
Seeing the newcomer, the Uchiha servant who had stood to one side like a statue bowed respectfully. "Clan leader."
The visitor was none other than Uchiha Fugaku.
His gaze did not linger on the servant. He waved a hand, signaling for the servant to leave.
Understanding his meaning, the Uchiha servant immediately backed out with his body bowed.

Fugaku slowly walked to the front of the reception room, settled into the seat of honor, and took a sip of tea before finally turning his gaze to Yechen.
With Fugaku looking at him, Yechen dropped his lazy demeanor, stood, and gave a slight bow. "Clan leader."
Seeing him rise, Uchiha Fugaku held out a hand and pressed it downward. "Sit down. Let's talk."
Yechen nodded slightly and sat back down. He had shown the proper courtesy and given Fugaku plenty of respect.
Once Yechen was seated, Uchiha Fugaku did not bring up the reason he had summoned him. Instead, he made small talk.
First, he spoke of how much the original owner of Yechen's body's parents had contributed to the clan, then lamented their deaths, and finally asked how Yechen had been living lately.
In short, it was like an elder asking after a younger family member.
Yechen was in no hurry either. Knowing Fugaku was trying to appeal to his emotions, he chatted along, offering a reply here and there.
Such a conversation might seem meaningless, but it could reveal a great deal, such as Yechen's temperament and how strongly he identified with the clan.
Those were precisely the things Uchiha Fugaku wanted to see.
