After sleeping for an entire day and night, Yechen felt much more refreshed.
He washed up quickly, then left the clan grounds and headed out to the streets for a hearty meal.
With nothing else to do, Yechen wandered the streets of Konoha.
Hands tucked into his pockets, he strolled along at an easy pace. He looked lazy, yet there was a certain quality to his bearing.
Indeed, although Yechen was merely wandering around, he was constantly contemplating the changes that the Heaven and Earth realm of insight had brought him.
As he walked, soaking in the atmosphere of everyday life, he suddenly sensed a ripple of spiritual power and instinctively stopped.
Just a moment earlier, he had felt a faint sense of being watched.
Even after he stopped, that feeling persisted.
He could therefore be certain that someone was spying on him.
He released his spiritual power to investigate, but to his surprise, there was nothing unusual nearby.
Could it be the Byakugan?
But he quickly dismissed that possibility.
After all, he possessed the Byakugan himself. He could tell whether someone was using it to spy on him.
That left only one possibility, and Yechen thought of Hiruzen Sarutobi.
He vaguely remembered that Hiruzen possessed a "Telescope Technique," which allowed him to observe every part of the village without leaving his home.
Judging by the way Hiruzen was observing him, Yechen deduced that this technique shared one feature with the Byakugan: it used energy as a medium to observe things from a distance.
That was why Yechen could sense someone spying on him yet could not find the observer anywhere nearby.
If his guess was correct, there should have been unusual fluctuations in the energy in the air.
